help me fix it :3

the infamous dress

i bought this OP for about $25. it's pretty awesome (probably more like awesomely-BAD, since it made the unmentionable community at least twice, but i love a coordination challege) except for a 3x3 spot where the velvet-y material has come off.

oh noes!

so i am wondering, what can i do to fix it/cover it up? i was thinking about appliqueing some black velveteen hearts over the spot, buuut i'm not sure. i'm going for a fairly gothic look, and hearts =/= gothic
