I promised to post a huge review of sorts on here a few days ago.
But I was called into work to do last minute markdowns so forgive me for being late. I'll start off the review in the order of which I purchased these items. I'll start with 69th Department and then over the next few days work my way down the stuff mentioned on the LJ-cut. I have to go to work in a few minutes for my other job.
My measurements would probably be beneficial too for some.
I'm 5'5.5" in height...I have a 32 bust/23 Waist/33 Hips.
69th Department - It was an obscure link I found on EGL that I just happend to follow and stumble on some of their more delightful items for sale. The link (or links) can be found here:
I bought the Victorian blouse in short sleeves seen here: http://xx69thxx.exblog.jp/5277793#5277793_1 which cost me a whooping $40 USD as well as Rococo Lace Skirt seen here: http://xx69thxx.exblog.jp/5144187#5144187_1 in black cotton sateen which cost me $52 USD (velveteen is a little more expensive, but you have the option of choosing it) and the shipping cost is lost to me but it was around $15 USD maybe, but I know it came with tracking.
But despite this, these pieces are probably one of the best buys I've ever made.
The shirt has to be one of the best shirts in my closet (and hardest to iron). Its a work of pintucks and ruffles and it fits like a glove to my skinny frame:
The shirt also has lace-up ribbons at the back for tightening:
Its 100% cotton and very high quality. The cotton itself has a barely there print to it as seen here:
Here's a closer view of the ruffles, pintucks and cute buttons with crown motifs on them.
The skirt front, its a high-waisted skirt...it has a tendency sometimes to make some people look short torso-wise. So be aware of what sort of figure you have before purchasing a high-waisted skirt like this one.
This is the skirt back. I'd make a note that I ordered it exactly to fit my waist at 23"...I do regret it a tad since when I eat a lot it does feel rather tight. Haha. Keep in mind that once this skirt is washed it will shrink because it is cotton. The fabric I requested was a fine high-quality black cotton sateen.
Service wise, the chick who runs 69th Department was very accomodating and a super-fast at replying. She answered all my inquiries through her site and eventually through MSN when the tracking did not show up on the Canada Post website. I have complaint about her service and I'd give her an A+ for it.
While the shirt looked exactly like the one I ordered on the website the skirt's lace was not the fine netting lace as pictured on the her selling blog. Instead I got a high-quality cream cluny...either way I still liked it very much. But if anyone wants the fine netting lace you MUST tell the seller of your preferences.
Always pester the seller with questions if you're unsure of something. If you don't you might end up with crap...that's my way of buying and I have to know what I'm buying or else I'll end up either re-working it or hating myself for making the mistake.
Sizing for this seller is exact...she had my sizes on hand when I ordered but I believe she can also do custom work also. Keep in mind what she sells are usually cotton and WILL shrink some when washed...
Any questions about 69th Department can be posted here and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability and experience. She also sells shoes too...but I believe the RH shoes from Loltia Lola and Ling_lam are much cheaper.
In a few days the review with pictures for the long awaited Anna House brand will arrive, so keep your eyes openned.
