Otakon Tea Party

Okay, ladies!  Remember me?  I posted about a month ago about organizing a tea party at Otakon this year.  Well, I'm here to give you
a few more concrete ideas about the plan.

Since several people expressed a desire to attend but were concerned about the whole Thursday thing, how does everyone feel about Friday, or maybe Sunday?  I'm strongly leaning toward Friday, if only so we've all still got the money to go (haha, I don't trust my own spending habits  ;_;).  It would be a lunchtime or teatime thing so that those of us attending the convention could get back without missing much.  Schedule for sometime between 11-2, depending on the teahouse's schedule and any schedule conflicts from people who want to go to tea but not the con.

Also, since there were only two of you that expressed any preference, I've gone through the options again and have come down to Teavolve or Brighton's Orangerie.  Teavolve really seems to me to be the best of most worlds--an amazing menu of teas and several options for serving said tea (including iced, which could be really refreshing in the heat!), an affordable menu with vegetarian options, a cozy atmosphere (pics of the place look like we'll definitely need reservations!), and it's really close.  On the other hand, Brighton's looks very elegant, and it's certainly a lot closer.  Plus, there's high tea on Friday and Saturday, while Teavolve only has high tea on Saturday and Sunday.  We'll be going to Brighton's!  When I spoke to them today, they said that they accommodate special needs, so the sooner you get any special needs in to me, the better.

If you're planning on coming, please leave a note here specifying which of the two you prefer, along with a name that I can use to identify you with.  I hate going to meet complete strangers, so maybe names will help break the ice!  If you're thinking of coming along, please post as well, but I'd like to know everyone who's going by the end of June.  This gives everyone a month and a half to work it out, and I'd like to give the restaurant a pretty accurate count.  There'll be leeway room for one or two, but I'd hate to reserve a table for six and have fifteen show up (and vice versa!).

For starters, people attending!:
  1. toujourspret / Elizabeth (me!)
  2. archfaith
  3. tropigalia
    1. guest
    2. guest
  4. arktoi

Also!  Does anyone know if there's going to be an Lolita panel this year?  I had to miss it last year because of my gofer schedule, and I'd love to be able to go this year.

EDIT: Wow, there's been a lot of response!  I'm going to have to put a cap on attendance, since I spoke to the restaurant and the largest party they can accommodate is 20.  This means that the people who've already expressed an interest are included in the 20, but please understand that if someone confirms before you, I must accept them instead.  If you decide not to go, please tell me so I can open your spot again!  If you've missed the signup and really want to come, e-mail me and I may be able to work something out.

EDITED AGAIN: LOL, I just realized that I should have specified "special
dietary needs".  I didn't think to ask about accessibility needs, though I'm sure they'd be accommodating to that, too.  As for e-mailing me, my e-mail is anonynezumi@gmail.com.  As of right now, reservations are completely full up, so as before, if you really want to come and have expressed a prior interest in attending, please e-mail me so we can work it out.
