same general technique as the H. Naoto inspired one i did a while back with the TEETH which i posted here.
it's all top-stitched patchwork ... i wanted to make a "sweet deconstructed" skirt, because i like to challenge myself.. :P it's really soft and a nice shape, and fluffs out nicely under a petticoat, not stiff at all, as some patchwork can be... and it saved my scrap bin! haha... here are a few pictures..
there are little embroidered bunnies in "lace windows" peeping out...they have little tufty tails too!
the whole thing. this is the front.. the back is similarly constructed...
there are tiny pink bows w/pearl-y beads sewn on...and SO MUCH lace!! i was such a lucky girl and found 5 giant spools of amazing lace at goodwill... it will last me years! i think i squealed a little when i saw it...
and here's a shirt i reconstructed that matches it nicely:
re-worked the whole thing, added trims, re-sized, adjusted the collar, and added the "sweet strawberry" label...it's unbuttoned in the pic, so the edges are overlapping a bit. it's really symmetrical in the front... i measured.. twice! :P
note: this is not for sale... but sometime later this year i may be making them available, so i will update with a proper sales post if/when i do decide to make more... for now i'm just sharing some photos because i think it came out ok, and is a different twist on the style... it was super fun to make, and is my own design and technique; i put a lot of work into it... made from scratch, self designed pattern. :) i'm working on a "fairytale" one next! sorry about the floor photos. i'm feeling camera shy today.. :/ and please pardon my attempt at french, i'm a little out of practice. :)
