Hi egl i have a question for you.

How do you pronounce Ouji? I always pronounced it like ouji board. As in wee gee.

Such a silly thing but we need silly questions to brighten our days!

I'm on the lookout for a realistic wig and was wondering which shops, in general, have the most realistic looking ones? I've heard of Galbanara, Cyperous and Priscilla but was wondering if there are others or which one out of the three tends to be the best.

Thank you!

Remember In the Starlight?

I haven't seen any entries about this, but I'm so sorry if this is a repeat! I was browsing Etsy, and I noticed that In the Starlight had opened a shop there recently. I had kind of forgotten about them, but I had gotten some nice stuff from them years ago. I thought you might like to know that they're still around! It looks like they're doing custom sizing on most things.

Cos & Effect 2011 Lolita Fashion Show

Cos & Effect is a new cosplay and alternative fashion convention that took place last weekend (Aug 13th & 14th) at the University of British Columbia. Here are photos from the lolita fashion show, organized and hosted by the lovely purinyappykura and annieduck . Thank you guys for doing a great job on such short notice.
I don't know everyone's name/username, so if you see yourself feel free to comment and let me know. If you have other photos from the event feel free to share and I'll add them here (please get permission from the photographer first).

Dressing up with your boy/girlfriend?

Hello there everybody. This is my first time posting to this community, so I'll give a little intro. My name is Kyle, half-japanese. I am gay (I'm not sure if that would offend anyone on here, hopefully not...) Anyway, onto my question:

My boyfriend cross-dresses in Lolita (is that called boy-lita or bro-lita?) I usually just wear jeans and a t-shirt. Nothing special or anything. I was wondering: as a lolita, do you feel awkward when you're all dressed up and your bf/gf isn't? I'm not really into wearing anything like aristocrat or ouji, so I've never dressed up with him. But lately I feel that he might want me to look a bit nicer when he does >__<

SOOO, what are your thoughts?

Thanks, everyone <3

NYC Fright Night Movie Meet UPDATED!

Fright Night was a childhood movie of mine and now they've remade it. I'm planning to see it whether it is good or bad, so I've decided to invite you all to join me. If anyone remembers from the our last meetup, this will be just as fun if not more. (However this will be a much better "bad" movie than Beastly")

Update: I've forgotten it was in 3D. For the sake of our wallets I've decided to choose 2D listing. Please see updated info under the cut.
