Notice to Canadian buyers/sellers

Hello all -
EDIT: My bad, Canada Post is actually NOT on strike yet; this is a notice of intent. If negotiations fail, they will strike at the end of this week. I'll keep this post updated.

FYI for anyone on EGL who are Canadian or in business transactions with a Canadian lolita:

Canada Post has declared intent to strike as of today.

Should the strike occur, please expect delays in your post delivery to and from Canada; currently there's no indication how long this will go on for, but they've had 2 failed negotiations already in just one week. Canada Post was already a not very efficient system to begin with, so even a minimal 2-day strike can put a SEVERE damper on delivery times as this is a huge national organisation that would have to 'catch up' on all their backlog. Depending on how things go during the strike and how quickly the post workers get back to their duties, delays can be anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks.

In the mean time, Canada Post has claimed they will endeavour to protect all mail and parcels currently in the Canadian mailstream, and I expect that goes the same for post delivered to Canada during the strike (which is likely stored somewhere until they get to it).

Should the strike occur, do account for this situation and do not unduly harass your Canadian sellers about late parcels; additionally, Canadian lolitas, it's probably best to not purchase anything via online for time-sensitive events like conventions. If you ARE purchasing at this time, PLEASE practice common sense and get tracking/insurance to keep your items safe.

How to order from this shop?

Hello, I am ready to purchase my second dress, and I want this one: http://anri.cafe24.com/zeroboard/view.php?id=Dress&page=1&sn1=&divpage=1&sn=off&ss=on&sc=on&select_arrange=headnum&desc=asc&no=12

As you can see, it's from Apricot, a Korean indie brand. I may be making a fool of myself if it's really well-known, but I had never heard of it before recently, so I checked it out and fell in love.

I'm going to cut to the chase. I want to know how to order from this shop. I tried looking on the "Order" page, but all there was was basically some kind of forum in Korean, which didn't help. A person did a Daily_Lolita post in which they wore a dress from there, so I'm guessing (or hoping) that they ship internationally.

Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

EDIT: Sorry, I thought I had put this under a cut.

Disney Land, Lolita, and Flats.

So I have heard all these stories about, "Don't wear certain Lolita to Disney Land." What is the point of that? What do the DL cast members do about it? Do they complain, treat you different, etc.? I was just curious because when I go to Disney Land I was going to be wearing a VERY casual lolita outfit but still.
Right now I am going to kill two birds with one stone... Catch two butterflies with one net. ^-^
Is it okay to wear flats with Lolita? I want to but then I don't. I do not know if I am being closed minded or not? What is your opinion on flats with lolita? O:

Blooming Garden length question

Hello!

I just bought one of my dream dresses today, Blooming Garden Tulle JSK in black, and I was somewhat confused by the length given by Hellolace. It gives the size as 67.5cm + 5cm (frill) (skirt length: 50cm + 5cm frill) length. I was told this means it's 72cm long, which really scares me, as I bought an AP dress that was 82cm and much too small. Can anyone who has owned this thread verify whether this is true?

Do you remember?

Today I started thinking about the fact that I have been into lolita fashion for about 8 years and it got me wondering about all the things that have changed and how some people from back then are still around. The fashion has changed a lot and so have the brands. I love talking about the old days cos lets face it, I am old XD
So I thought it would be fun to do a little " do you remember"  game.
It's very easy you simply post what you remember about the time you got into lolita fashion ( doesn't matter if you've been into it for years and years or just a few months ) and other people can comment on that so we can have a little chit-chat about it.
I'll start with a simple example:

Do you remember when there wasn't a sales com and everything was posted in here?

Hello! ^^

I am absolutely new here, nice to meet you! I'm very new to lolita, so I don't have any brand items yet, but I am going to save up money for some. This is kind of hard though...I'm too young to get a job...I'm going to try babysitting and what not. It's hard when you're just starting out, isn't it? Trying to get comfortable in the style and all that. SO, I have a question for all of you that have been lolita longer than me: What was it like in the beginning? Were you scared that perhaps you were wearing something wrong? Was it near impossible to be one because of money or something else? Did someone call you an ita?! I would like to know, I'm sure I will make some mistakes in my beginning too ^^

And since I'm new, may I have some tips for the fashion please? I would love to hear advice from someone >w<// So I don't end up looking like an ita instead of a sweet lolita! Thank you, and again nice to meet you!!
