Lolita shops in Beijing?

Hey everyone..
I'm going to china for about a week and was wondering...
There are a lot of stores (like on Taobao and e-bay) that are from china - but do they have actual stores?
I'll only be in Beijing and the close area, and I would love it if anyone could shed some light on the subject:)
I'll also love it if someone could tell me about wig shops in the area!

Thank you so much in advance!

Too good to be true? (Dream of Lolita Help)

Hello dear members of EGL!
A couple of days ago I posted this here on EGL in which I ask for help with my quest for a blouse. Since then I have been browsing around TaoBao among other places. On TaoBao I have found this blouse from Dream of Lolita which I really like. I have read all the EGL posts about Dream of Lolita and I'm getting a lot of mixed messages. Some people highly suggest the shop, others don't dare go near it.

My question is: this blouse for this price by Dream of Lolita, a great deal or asking for a cheap see-through lace monstrosity?

There is also no mentioning of the size of the blouse on the item page. Does anyone know where I might find a Dream of Lolita size-chart? Do they offer custom sizing?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

Pictures from Otakon 2010

Hello lovelies! I was in attendance at Otakon again, and let me tell you, it was a frill packed weekend! I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked, but from the few I did take, you can see how many lolitas showed up ^_^ I have them all uploaded and posted to my blog so you can see them here (along with some cosplays and other fashions):

And for lolitas like myself who are also interested in h.Naoto and the fashion show that took place, I have photos and video of that as well:

I wish I had photos of the lolita fashion show, but I was one of the designers, so I was backstage the entire time. Everyone was very talented and I was honored to be a part of it along with so many creative people.

I need opinions! Should I get bangs?

Hello all you lovely people!  I've been trying to decide whether or not to take the plunge and get bangs for quite some time.  So I figured you all, if you'd like, could help me!  I'm typically a gothic or classic lolita.  If you do think I should get bangs, what type?

Please let me know if this post is too off topic for egl (I mainly want them so I could look cuter in my lolita ;3 ).  i will gladly delete.

Getting a Longer Petticoat Commissioned - Recommendations?

I want a good staple lolita petticoat, but as I am tall and looking to get skirts about 60cm long, the petticoats I see online are typically not long enough. I'd want one about 55 cm long. Does anyone on here commission petticoats that can make them in a longer size, or know of anyone who could be able to do such a thing? It may be my only petti for a while, so I want a good staple petticoat, not the kind that will easily deflate or not last very long. I don't want like... super cupcake can't even fit through a doorway poof, but I still want enough poof that it's cute. I would want a petti that has about this shape/amount of poof: (yay Innocent World! =D) Does anyone on here have recommendations for commissions for petticoats (people who are willing/know how to make them longer). Thanks! I just wanna make sure I get a good one! =)

Hello! I'm a new lolita. :3 I haven't gotten any dresses yet, though I will soon (money is an issue, and I just lost my wallet. D; ) Anyways... I've been interested in lolita fashion for two and a half years now, and I've studied it... I guess you could say?  Anyways! I'm a sweet lolita -loves the style- and.... yeah. For now, I'll just start off slow, and buy some dresses and shoes from some cheaper sites before I step up my game. It was good to finally find some lolita sites that stay away from satin and shiny materials. :3

Goodness I'm blind. Sorry 'bout that!

um... so, something to ask or share, is it? Well then, here goes nothing?

This may seem like a silly question, but why do you where lolita dresses, and clothes? Is it ever odd, if you go outside and people stare? I am one to wear what I want without the thoughts of others, but that's just me. Sometimes I get a bit freaked out at the staring though... I remember when I did get my first lolita skirt (a few years ago) I felt like a princess in it and refused to take it off. xD
