I apoligise if someone has already posted this, but my friend found a Megavideo link that works for the Price of Beauty, so us non-US Lolis can watch the cringe-worthy affair that this is too.
Currently I'm starting a weight loss program in order to buy my first brand dress ^^ I honestly feel uncomfortable spending $200+ on a single dress, but if I work hard to fit into something I really like, I know I will feel like I deserve to wear it :)
So, my question for you all is: has lolita ever motivated or inspired you to do anything? lose weight? learn how to sew? anything that might be slightly more interesting and less obvious than those suggestions--something like open a toy store, or a candy shop? Please discuss!
(disclaimer: I did check the memories and did a search for this one, but I couldn't find anything that really fit this topic. I apologize if I missed something >_< )
I have a...dilemma.
Being plus-sized AND African-American I have a big butt that just juts out and it is becoming a problem with wearing dresses and skirts. I can wear a modest, knee length skirt and it looks fine and dandy in the front, but in the back not so much (by a few inches, I'm around 5'5). I do not want to always buy the longer versions of skirts/JSKs/dresses even if they are available and I definitely do not want to go under the knife to make the bottome smaller just for the sake of ~**fashion~*~!
So my question is, especially to those lolitas withe large bottoms, what do you girls do to make sure your skirts doesn't hike in the back?
EDIT: Thank you all very much for the advice! What I've heard the most was wear a petticoat with a fluffier back and move it up to the front! It's sounds...interesting, but I'll try that! I'll still keep this post open.
Thanks everyone for your replies, I will take it to a seamstress and get it changed
Of course, one of the best petticoats for long-time regular lolita wear is the Malco Modes 582, sold by Candy Violet. I have 2 of these myself and they are perfect.
However, I'm looking to buy a few cheap petticoats for shows and to have on hand when I need an extra one for someone else, and at roughly half the price of the 582, the 578 seems like it might suit my purposes.
However, I've never seen one in person, so I thought I'd ask here before taking the risk! So, has anyone seen this petticoat or owned one? Any information you have on it would be highly appreciated!
Or, if you know another good option for a cheap petticoat that has a good amount of poof and won't deflate right away, please let me know! I'm open to suggestions!
Please, can someone tell me the misureaments?
