Some people mentioned that they would like to see some close-up pictures of some of the designer's work from the Otakon fashion show. Since I took pictures of my dresses before I sent them off to ugly_kitties, I figured I'd post them for people to see.
Greetings from one of the mods over at egl_comm_art! We're a community based around Lolita artwork, a friendly place to post your work and get helpful critiques (or if you just want to share artwork you did without fear of being torn apart by the non-art community ;)). In addition to being a great place to show off your mad art skillz and ask for help and suggestions, one of the things that we're doing to keep the community active is having art contests!
Monthly theme contest! - Each month is given a different theme (announced before the start of said month). For instance, July's theme is Elements! The winner of the theme contest will get their name and piece featured in the layout of the community for one month. Voting for this theme contest has officially started! Click here to go vote! August's theme will be announced within the next few days, keep an eye on the community for details. ;) ( Collapse ) You must be a member in order to enter any of the contests (obviously). If you're interested in becoming a member, please see our community rules here. You don't need to be a member to vote though, so I encourage everyone to go vote! ;) Want to become a work of art? We're looking for photo donations! I'd like to expand the resources available to our community artists, and for that, I need everyone's help who's able to contribute! If you have photos that you'd like to donate, and/or would like more information, please see my full post in the art community, here--commenting has been enabled for non-community members (and screened to help protect those that don't want their photos too widely spread, but don't mind them being used for artistic purposes). Please post all photos/links in the linked post, not in this egl post.
I recently bought this off a seller in egl_comm_sales. I did not find a label or tag that says Metamorphose. Is this a problem? I am just wanting to make sure it is authentic.
Hi lolitas! ^__^
Recently there was our annual picnic in Moscow, and this is our photos from various authors. I think, you would like it.
It was very nice and very hot but we had much fun and beauty.
This is my first time posting *nervous*, so please tell me if i did something wrong
I have been observing lolita for 2 years now, and I have finally decided to buy my first dress! I'm planning to buy it from bodyline, and I just have a few questions about them. I checked the memories also, but delete the post if needed.
1. What is a DHL fee? 2. Is bodyline considered lolita? (there's been some debates about this, and I get its somewhat of an opinon thing)
So I thought about more tags..... and I know initially when they were put into action the comm was split into people appreciating them and people hating them and I think time has passed enough that people just accept they are there but now after I'm constantly looking on egl sales I think wouldn't it be easier if there were more item specific tags?
I see so so SO many WTB tags yet I've seen someone sell the item just a week gone and they won't know this, or someone asking for a JSK and a good few has been posted in the last 48 hours.
So just your thoughts, would tags like: jsk, onepiece, skirt, blouse, shoes, hair accessories etc etc etc be worth around?
its just a thought and I want to see what everyone else thinks, is it just me who thinks about this?
**edit** didn't really consider colour tags think that would be...too much
The due date is September 10th! Get drawing people! XP
Alrighty, since there seemed to be a decent amount of responses to my last post (http://community.livejournal.com/egl/13827591.html?view=289122055#t289122055) regarding ATCs, I’ve decided to make another regarding rules and such. If you have any other questions that are not covered here, please post them to the original thread.
Got bored today, so I whipped out a new JSK (which I will not be wearing again until winter, because it is WAY TOO HOT to wear in Texas in summer) and took some fun photos in my family's living room. These are a bit different from my usual I-got-bored-and-dressed-up snaps, so I'm posting them here rather than on daily_lolita. They aren't by any means a formal photoshoot, but I had some fun playing with the photos after I took them.
A few of us from the Colorado Gothic Lolita Society gathered for a tea party at a Victorian Castle in Manitou Springs, Colorado. We enjoyed tea and scones and lots of tasty things and then we wandered in the garden for a photo shoot afterwards.... ( Collapse )
I ordered this skirt from F+F. I did NOT notice how long it was...I just measured it against myself and the skirt will be almost mid calf! Urgh! Is there anyway I'll be able to fix this without screwing it up...like, do you think if I took it to a tailor she could fix it? Or will it just look bad? =(
Of course, it might come in the perfect length, but I doubt that after reading about F+F making many things far too long... =( I wasn't worried because custom stuff I ordered ages ago was always perfect! I'm just so sad cause the skirt is so cute, and lovely for what it is. And I don't think I'll look good in a longer skirt (not in loli, at least)

Secondly, I was wondering why Baby stopped their night/underwear line? They had so much cute stuff (thought expensive even for brand, iirc)and yet they don't even have a link for it on the site anymore!
