For those of you who forgot, Meta's sales page is up. Most of the newer prints are there, including the bunny cafe, cat print, and the one with the crown and roses.
Good luck getting what you want.

egl_comm_art - go vote!
Greetings from one of the mods over at
egl_comm_art!
We're a community based around Lolita artwork, a friendly place to post your work and get helpful critiques (or if you just want to share artwork you did without fear of being torn apart by the non-art community ;)).
I've added a new tag for commissionable artists! Each member has to create an intro before posting their art to the community, and one of the fields in the intro is asking if the artist is available for commissions. Each of these intros is tagged !commissionable. If anyone is looking for commissions, go ahead and check out our artists!
In addition to being a great place to show off your mad art skillz and ask for help and suggestions, one of the things that we're doing to keep the community active is having art contests!
Monthly theme contest! - Each month is given a different theme (announced before the start of said month). For instance, June's theme is Fanart! Artists have until a set deadline before the end of said month to complete and post a piece of their own creation based on that theme. The winner of the theme contest will get their name and piece featured in the layout of the community for one month (until the following month's winner is chosen, and it carries on this way).
Voting for this theme contest has officially started! Click here to go vote!
July's theme will be announced within the next few days, keep an eye on the community for details. ;)
New Contest - LOLitas! - For this one, submissions can be anything, as long as it's humorous and somehow involving Lolita. It can be anything from a drawing with a lolcat-ish caption (has to be an art piece, no candid photos), to a short comic strip (think of what you'd find in the funnies in the newspaper, nothing longer than that), to an embarrassing Lolita moment, etc. Use your imagination, just make it funny, and make it art! The prize for this contest will be a jewelry box, wood burned and painted by yours truly, with a Lolita style of your choice. Original post here.
You must be a member in order to enter any of the contests (obviously). If you're interested in becoming a member, please see our community rules here.
You don't need to be a member to vote though, so I encourage everyone to go vote! ;)

Looking for Hair Advice
Hey everyone!
Next week I am getting photos taken of me. I already have planned out what I am going to be wearing and where the photos are going to be taken.
( Collapse )
The trouble is my hair. I'd actually really like to do some more historically accurate hair. I was thinking something like hair from "The Duchess", because I think that kind of hairstyle would look great with the hat I'm wearing, but also look nice for some shots without the hat.
Does anyone have any tutorials or advice for doing hair like this? Any other hair suggestions?
Thank you!

A little input on the shape of this dress?
Hello! :D
Some time ago I went to Kmart and found this really cute jumper with a strawberryxflower pattern, but I'm not sure of the shape... ( Collapse )

What's the best petticoat ever? (In your opinion...)
Let the debate begin!
Yeah, I know this has been done before, but those posts are kinda old. I think we need a new one, for newer brands and for the different combinations of petticoats people may have begun to use recently.

What happened with Avantgauche?
I used to visit the Avantgauche site regularly due to the links collections and the scans from old GLBs. It surprised me a lot to find a parked domain page with text ads instead of the Lolita resource site. I think the site was still up two days ago. Does anybody know what happened?
EDIT: It seems it's going to be down for a while, but will definitely come back.
Thanks!

Loli in the Schools
I’m doing some research for an article, and I’d like your help! The topic of my article is Lolita at school. I searched and used memories, but didn't see anything recent like I was looking for.

Credit Cards and Lolita
This summer, I'm heading out to Japan to do some shopping.
My question for the community is this: For those of you who have been shopping in Japan, do the lolita stores there take credit cards? What kinds of cards are they more or less likely to accept? (By type I mean Visa, Discovery, Mastercard, etc). Do different brands accept different kinds of cards? My credit cards will be USA-issued, has anyone ever had a problem using credit cards from the States?
I did do a search and didn't come up with anything specific to this question. Most of the questions I found on the search had to do with buying through their websites, which may be different from in-store policies.
EDIT: Answered with helpful hints and suggestions! VISA or Mastercard it is, thanks so much, you guys!

I also drew this one, too, for give-a-way via Rock-Paper-Scissors. Both were done with copic on the fly. Excuse the picture quality, these are just photos. :)
