Shoes and Accessories

Shoes for those like myself who are not fond of thick soles and thicker heels that are often seen in lolita fashion. I personally love tapered high heels for classic lolitas in the range of 3 1/2 to 4 inches. (Not stilletos though.) It elongates my legs since I stand at only 4'11". Anything higher or shorter just seems to make me look squat.

moite help

So, lolis who own moite cutsews specifically with the polyester material, exactly how much does the material stretch if at all?

i ask because i've had 2 moite pieces before, a blouse and cutsew and they were both impossible to fit into. mainly the shoulder line was too small. and there was just no way... so i was wondering if other people who have purchased things more recently, what is the verdict?

thanks much for the help. and peace out.

Sale season has started early!

It seems like sales have started earlier this year! It's almost too bad as we can't spend our Christmas/Holiday money on them. I know I spent a lot on gifts this year and don't have much left for the sales.

Innocent World is now accepting orders for their fukubukuro!

And Victorian Maiden and Beth start theirs tomorrow.

I hope everyone posts pictures of the things they snag this year!

My new skirt

So, I posted here awhile ago about some potential lolita style fabrics (see post here). And here is the result for the offwhite/grey chicken fabric (sorry about the bad photos, I had to take them myself in the bathroom, only place I have a large enough mirror).
Have in mind that it looks lots better in person and it's my first lolita skirt.

Edit: Thank you all so much for the compliments! I'm confident about making more lolita clothing in the near future now.

Off-Topic, But I Thought You Should Know

There is a site called ljfind.com that archives all of Livejournal, even if your entries are private, friends only and sometimes even deleted. Apparently if it was public for even a second it will show up. I checked it out and when I searched under my name I found an entry that I had posted as public and then friendslocked.

To be removed from the archiving index, you have to leave a comment here: http://ljfind.livejournal.com/9924.html

Question RE: Quality of outfit

So, my friend bought me THIS outfit from Rakuen Fashion for my birthday (I have yet to recieve it in the mail), and I was just wondering if anyone else had this outfit and could give me a bit of info regarding the quality of it, just so I know what to be expecting before it gets here.  Thanks in advance!

Guidelines to Moderator Comments and Moderation

I'm issuing this warning once and then I'm going to start handing out demerits if I see it again.

If a moderator warns a member about breaking community rules, let the moderator do their job. PLEASE.

That means the following:

1) If the member who was warned continues the behavior, send a message to the moderation team with a link that points to the behavior.

2) Let the moderation team take action.

That does not mean:

1) Taunting/reprimanding/mocking said member.
2) Starting a flame war, multi-thread discussion, or giant bicker-fest towards said member.

As moderators we really do have a full plate keeping the community orderly. Having to gather evidence and track problem members is pretty tricky to begin with. But when members decide to jump in and 'have at' on a problem member, it becomes even more difficult. Many of the comments become insulting, retaliatory, and downright vicious. Which means that the moderation team has to hand out a fresh round of warnings instead of just nipping the problem neatly in the bud.

Believe it or not, the team has no problem with banning/reprimanding members who cause trouble. But we don't want to have to start throwing people out en masse because everyone is muck-racking. There are many other communities that shall not be named where you can vent your rage uninhibited. Please do all of your flaming there and leave egl out of it. It makes our jobs as moderators easier.

On a personal note I'm almost feeling like a hypocrite nowadays whenever I log on to warn/moderate because even if I can see the problem member, I see a lot of other members acting pretty nastily towards them. I seriously don't want to have to become some sort of Mod Nazi or a mother-type who shakes her finger at every little thing. Please just use common sense and courtesy. Ignore people, report them, and then let the team take care of the issue.

Thanks.
