Question to the lovely ladies here. I have a dress almost in lolita style. This dress is 12% spandex and 88% Nylon.
Now my question to you girls is: would it be alright to hand wash it in cold water and then put it in a dryer? I want it to shrink a little since it is a little big on me, but I don't want to ruin it and I don't want crazy wrinkles in it. It also needs to be softened! I've hung it up in the bathroom while I took hot steamy showers (sexy showers ;D.... except not really :( ) to reduce wrinkles and soften it, but it's not working so much.
I have a question, well more like a poll on them. I have a friend that has had hers go flat on her, and this is not the first time I have heard of this happening. I want to know how many of you have had a problem with them.
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find and purchase cute EGL-like shoes in size US 11. I'm dieing to find a pair of rocking horse shoes, so if you know where I can find some, please tell me!
Thank you ♥
I'm at a loss for cute halloween costume ideas. I don't want to buy any from the store I'd rather put together my own costume. Any ideas?
In light of the previous discussion over everyone's favorite and least favorite lolita themes and symbols, i'd like to ask what themes or symbols do you rarely or never see in lolita that you wish you did?
This question's been plaguing me recently, as I'm finding myself rather bored with the usual themes. I'm even considering looking into local screenprinters to see how much it would cost to get some skirts and tops printed up with my own favorite symbols. If I were better at embroidery, that would probably look even nicer. I personally think that some western seamstresses could have the potential to do well if they tried out more unusual themes rather than imitating brand.
I'd love to see more birds and birdcages, as well as other nontraditional animals, such as fish or deer. Cute insects like ladybugs, spiders, and dragonflies are rarely seen. Depending on the art, it may also be cool to see more fantasy themes, such as unicorns, dragons, or griffons (definitely could fit into the royal motif). I also have a personal bias in that I think that greyhounds have a much more beautiful silhouette than poodles do, and wish such a theme existed.
So how about you?
Out of curiosity, what is everyone going to be for Halloween? I know that wearing Lolita during Halloween is kinda taboo, but does anyone here have any ideas/suggestions where you can still wear Lolita but still be "costumey" (I use this term loosely)?
Example of Ideas: Doll, Pirate, Marie Antoinette
