Can we discuss Otome-kei a bit?

After a search through the archives it seems the last time anyone has really discussed Otome was a few years ago. I've been attempting to research it myself as it seems so linked with Lolita (especially casual and classic Lolita), but my findings are pretty minimal. I'm quite interested in learning more about it, how the outfits are built, popular brands other than ETC and Jane Marple and even simply finding a petticoat that has a very minimal amount of poof (as opposed to the bigger is better mentality in Lolita). Care to share anything?
