Angelic Pretty Sock Care?

Does anyone have tips for how to clean Angelic Pretty OTKs with woven-in designs? I ask because I just soaked by Melty Ribbon Chocolate Socks in luke-warm water with no soap and they fell apart.

Large holes formed along certain lines of color but the main body of brown still seems intact. They are now completely unwearable and I'm kind of upset because I spent $35 USD on them and only got one wear out of 'em. My Metamorphose Princess Wardrobe OTKs can go through the washing machine but with AP I soaked them in the sink with no soap. I also soaked a pair of plain solid-color brown OTK AP socks and they seem okay; the color has faded considerably but they appear to be intact and still wearable for now.
