How do you love Lolita fashion?
Hi ladies and gentlemen!
If you're here I guess it's because you love or at least like Lolita fashion. I was wondering how was this feeling for you. I know it may be a quite personal question but I'm very curious. :p
In "how do you love Lolita fashion", I mean, not really about the aesthetic, but about the fact of wearing it / that people wear it. Is it more something that makes you dream ? That makes you extremely excited when you wear it? Or rather that makes you jealous because you can't afford it and you see all these pretty ladies wearing it? Or is it just some clothes you wear to go see your friends at meetups?
To me it has first been very frustrating, because of forcing myself not to think of it for 7-8 years (from 2004 to 2011) after I fell in love with it seeing some pictures of black and white frilly girls on the Internet (I was a tomboy. I _couldn't_ be interested in clothing.). I even laughed at lolitas at that moment. But then I started thinking of it again, being more curious about it, and in the end confessed to myself that it really was something that I would love wearing so so bad. Since I've started wearing it, 1 year ago, it has also changed: in the beginning I felt really excited when I wore Lolita, I even had difficulties do act as myself, there was like a firewall between the world and me created by my clothing, that let me only act shyly and cutely.
But after some weeks/months it became more "normal" to me to wear it. Now I just feel and act as myself in my clothes. I love wearing them even to go to work, it doesn't make me feel excited anymore but just very comfortable, and pretty. That's the way I love it right now and I would really not trade it with my previous clothes.
I first thought that it was the same for every lolita, but I have the impression that some of us are always excited when they dress up in Lolita, and / or that they feel / act differently.
I also wonder if some Lolitas stop wearing it when they lose the excitement?
What is your experience, what do you feel?
Thanks! :)
