Quick question about shoes

I've got a con coming up, and while I've got my shoes ready to go, I'm afraid of what hours and hours of walking around will do to my feet. Is it okay to change to appropriately colored flats to avoid blisters? Is there a way to pretty them up to avoid being called an ita? Do I cover my feet in bandaids and just tough it out? I know ballet flats are looked down upon by the community, but 16+ hours on one's feet can become agony.
