Extreme Accessories : Carousel Headdress

I'd like to share a rather extreme (and perhaps somewhat questionable XD) accessory; my Carousel headpiece. I'm sorry I don't have a better close up; the only photo I took of myself is the one on the left and I couldn't get the camera up any higher.

I was fascinated by the carousel horses in DDC and wanted to make a matching headpiece for it using a miniature carousel based on the ones that I saw floating around after SC came out. This turned into me buying a couple music boxes on taobao and attaching one, with a ton of flowers to a headband with a lot of wire and some hot glue. It plays "My Heart Will Go On", and I wired it to headband so that it can still spin and play music while I'm wearing it.

It's very heavy and it actually slid around a little more than I would have liked, unfortunately.

The large ribbon to the side, and some of the flowers opposite it are detachable, so here is just the heaband with the carousel and flowers from when I was making it, so you can see it a little better than in the pictures.

I really struggled to find good flowers in good colors. If I did this again, I'd probably look for other gold flower sources, because these ones were not that great.

All in all, I think it's a little much, and certainly not something I'd wear every day (I traded it in for a headbow after a few hours even at Otakon because my head was getting tired), and some of the materials weren't stellar, but it was fun and it was funny to reach up and wind it up and see people's reactions! XD
