In the Valley of Tired Trends
Just like on the runways at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, new trends are being revealed all the time in Lolita. Split-color wigs, classical paintings as prints a la JetJ, headdresses that look like mini cakes, the list goes on and on. Of course, we're not obligated to wear these if we don't like it or if it's too impractical.
So what trends are you sick of and/or have always hated?
Personally, I've never been fond of JetJ's classical painting prints since they're not my cup of tea (also because their sizing wouldn't work for me). I'm also not fond of the salopettes most sweet brands crank out since they look unflattering. The only one I actually like is Angelic Pretty's Dream Sky salopette (the 2013 re-release) in sax. AP's cake headdresses were pretty absurd too in my mind.
Now if you happen to like any of this, that's perfectly fine but please no hatred. I don't want a mess on my hands, let alone the mods.
Or if you can't answer that, have you seen any garments that made you go WTF?
Update: It seems like the most common things people dislike are salopettes, split wigs, eye-enlarging makeup, circle lenses, classical painting prints, infant theme prints (like AP's Dreamy Baby Room), and prints involving crosses. The "your dress or skirt MUST hit the knee" rule, OTT Sweet trend and flat shoes (tea parties anyone?) has also gotten a bit stale for some.
