pessimisticI've been browsing the local antique and consignment shops looking for berets, and almost all of them have collections of women's hats from the 40's through the 60's. Some of them are god-awful, ugly straw behemoths with ratty veils and peeling paint, and others look like this:

I LOVE this hat, but before I throw down 40 bucks for it, I want to see how others would coord this into their own lolita outfits, or examples of their own vintage hat collections and how they work them in. I understand that it can take a really keen eye and an experienced coordinator to keep an outfit 'Lolita' as opposed to just 'retro'. Any takers?
