I got hired today for the best-paying job I've ever had in my entire life after a prolonged and humiliating period of unemployment, and after the initial shrieking and happy-dances, it got me thinking: How is this going to affect my wardrobe? I'm finally going to have enough disposable income to buy dream pieces really easily! However...do I really want to?
What would you do? Would you walk into Baby's SF store, and walk out with their entire stock? Would you renovate your closet into a walk-in, for the sole purpose of housing more? Would you buy tickets to to Japan and raid Closet Child like a frilly, sale-savaging pirate?
I'd flesh out my wardrobe with commission pieces first, like blouses, bloomers, jsks, and ops from some of the indie seamstresses, and broaden the reach of my wardrobe. I'd buy more wigs. I'd finally give Gothic a whirl, bulk up with some classic pieces for every-day, and maybe experiment with Punk like I've been meaning to do.
