Old world Antiques and New Friends
Good evening everyone! I always thought my first post here would be some elaborate introduction because I have been silently visiting this community for many years. I am happy to present a small meet up with friends instead! During my NY stay I had the chance to meet 3 lovely ladies and spend the day with them.

I arrived at Obscura Antiques and Oddities at noon and as the cab parked across the street I peeked out of the dirty window and smiled when I saw familiar bell shaped dresses outside of the store. I crossed the street and after a brief and happy "Hello!" I proceeded to take some outfit shots.

Stephanie and Kelsey looking cute.

Me in my favorite dress ♥
Once the store opened, we made our way inside and gaped at the wonderland within. Skulls sat atop shelves and foxes, bears and birds stared at us through glass eyes. Skeletons hid in nearly every corner of the store, their bleached bones surrounded by old books, posters and other oddities. I was so happy. Photography was not allowed but one of the shop keepers was nice enough to take a small group shot.

Stephanie found a delicious gelato parlor near Obscura so we were off for pre tea sweets!

Once everyone found a flavor they fancied we sat near the windows and chatted about anything and everything.

It was so hot outside we did not want to leave but had a few trains to catch. Two trains later we arrived at the cutest tea house I have even been to.

The tea was not only excellent but presented to us in lovely pots adorned with various historical figures and places.

When the food arrived Stephanie got really excited...

and became a ghost.
The food was so good and really filling, we barely finished the desserts! Everyone had on beautiful outfits but I started noticing small things that really brought them together as the day went on. Details, details, details.

I wanted to get some last outfit shots around the tea house. I kept thinking The Mise en scène in here is great, wish I was filming.

She is cutest and even got to model for BABY, The Stars Shine Bright!

I think I fit in pretty well.
We left the tea room feeling filled and happy and started making our way back to the subway. I had an amazing time with everyone and made some great new friends. I am looking forward to my next NY trip and meeting more lolitas.
(I apologize if some pictures are out of focus, I am still learning how to work my camera)

♥ The End ♥
