Chicago Community Peasants Picnic~

peasantpicnic

Join us for your lunch break!

In honor of the upcoming harvest and traditional festivities that accompanied it the Chicago Lolita community will be having a picnic!

Our theme this time is Peasants! Peasant attire requested, but "House staff" ensembles are also permitted!

Please join us in your 'traditional farmhand' lolita best for our first ever informal 'Peasant picnic!'

The picnic will take place on September 28th, at 11 AM at Winnemac Park in Chicago, IL.
This location does have a public parking lot. We will be sitting near there.

Pretend as if it is lunch time for all of a single houses' staff! From the garden workers, to the field hands, to the butlers! We would love you to channel the 1600s-early 1900s in your outfits. We have created a Pinterest board here to further understanding of this concept: http://pinterest.com/paillettes/peasants-picnic/

Unfortunately, this event is not a potluck. We request that you bring your food in appropriate containers(glass jars, wax paper etc).
Please pack it in a basket to match your outfit.
And don't forget a theme appropriate ground cover (such as a plain blanket, in traditional materials such as wool and cotton)

We would like to encourage you to follow through as much as possible with this theme. You have a MONTH to come up with something peasant-like or traditional maid-like. And yes, we expect you to have good hair accessories and shoes to match your ensemble. You have a month, make it good.

Dress either as House Staff (maids, servants, butlers, in suits or what have you like above) or as field workers/peasants, please!

If you would prefer to be wearing something bright colored, printed or otherwise not appropriate for this theme, please refrain from attending this picnic. The Chicago area does have regular events for more traditional Lolita styles, but this one is intend to mix it up a bit!

I am the official host of this event, so please direct all of your comments and feedback at me.
