Can a "belt" be a part of a lolita outfit?
I once was a devoted collector of lolita clothing. After a hiatus, I've recently renewed my interest in lolita fashion and its community. Unfortunately, so much time has passed that I'm now reading articles and attempting to re-learn the various "rules" that guide the lolita style.
I was hoping that the EGL community could answer a question about a certain accessory...
In the past few years, I've found that I love pairing belts with dresses in my "everyday," non-lolita wardrobe. They cinch my waist and flatter my figure. The result looks something like this...

So then I started thinking about it... Some of my jumper dresses are kind of similar to the conventional sundresses in my closet. Is it acceptable to pair a belt with a lolita outfit? I tried to research this topic on my own, and there appear to be some "belt-like" items in the inventory of Lolibrary. They are generally defined as "mini-corsets" or "cummerbunds" (which I think is pretty strange since a cummerbund is traditionally what men wear with tuxedos).
These items look like this:

Of the two options above, I think the "cummerbund" is a lot closer to what I envisioned in terms of a "belt." I'm looking for something that acts truly like a "belt" in the sense that it's an accessory and can be added to any outfit--and which gives my figure that flattering look.
However, I had a very hard time finding these...and so I wondered if it's because these are technically not "lolita" items and go against convention...? Can corsets be worn on the outside of an outfit, or does this cross the line into non-lolita territory?
If these are technically OK for lolita style, does anyone know of any brands that currently make and sell mini-corsets or cummerbunds?
Thank you for your help! <3
