Even though we all love to wear our beloved Angelic Pretty or Moitie or Bodyline (or whatever other brand you covet) every day we can, there are days where some just want to say "Screw it, I'm wearing a tank top and Daisy Dukes." Others will still wear their Lolita in any weather.
Did I just lose you? Sorry-it sometimes takes me a bit to get to the point...
So what I'm trying to say is this: even if the weatherman says that it's going to be hot as Hades or cold like Antarctica, do you still wear your frills?
Personally, it really depends. Last week, my mom and I had a meeting for lia Sophia (jewelry business we work for) and the high that day was about 87 degrees F. I wore a short sleeve white blouse, skirt, ankle socks, black Mary Janes and a red cloche hat to keep things at a casual level. Even though I was for the most part in air conditioning, it still felt a bit warm for me and I felt sorely tempted to take off my skirt and petti and just walk around in the PJ shorts I used for bloomers (in my defense I don't wear Loli often, so I mostly use PJ shorts as bloomers in a pinch). If the weather is really nice I may consider wearing Lolita, but on ungodly hot days like this, I really don't think it's worth it for me to put on my frills.
Any thoughts on this? What are some tricks you swear by to beat the heat or cold? Have you had a moment where you had no choice but to wear something more practical? Share it in the comments!
