Post troubles??

Hi everyone!

Has anyone else in the US had trouble with USPS lately? For some reason, my local USPS has been acting kind of wonky lately

April 21st: I ordered a pair of boots from DreamV via Rakuten. I paid for it on the same day.

April 23rd: DreamV emails me saying that they shipped my boots out via EMS (which would then go through USPS) with a tracking number and the package required me to sign for it.

From then to April 27th, the boots were in transit.

April 27th: The tracking says that the boots would be delivered today. They were not and no missed package slip was delivered to my door. I attempted to schedule a redelivery via USPS's website and the website did say that they attempted to deliver it to me. I've scheduled redelivery via the USPS website 3 times before (I'm not very good at being there for packages. ^^;) and I get the package on the day I scheduled the redelivery for with no questions asked. The redelivery was scheduled for the 29th.

April 29th: Still no boots and no missed package slip. I scheduled another redelivery via their website for it to arrive on the 30th.

April 30th: Still no boots. I called the post office because my mom wasn't home to drive me and they said that they did receive my redelivery request, but had been busy today. I ask them over the phone if they could redeliver it tomorrow. The kind lady on the other end said that sure, they weren't very busy tomorrow.

May 1st: Yep, you guessed it. No boots. Since I don't have a missed package slip and USPS won't allow me to pick up packages without the slip (no, a screenshot of when the website said USPS last attempted to deliver my package isn't accepted at my local post), I had to reschedule yet another redelivery on their website.

May 2nd: I think at this point, you can guess whether the boots got here or not. I biked over (it took over an hour, but at this point I was pretty pissed with them) to the office where I normally pick things up and I was informed there that they did have my package, but I can't pick it up due to my lack of proof that I'm myself (for security reasons, they only take those peach missed package slips as proof that the package is yours). I asked the person if they could redeliver my boots for me and he said that the package would be on tomorrow's truck.

May 3rd: I went home during lunch to make sure that I'm there when the package arrives. While the USPS truck did stop on my street, it wasn't my boots. I called up the post office and they told me that they'd sent the package back to DreamV! I told them that I've rescheduled redeliveries this entire week and I had the confirmation numbers on all the redeliveries and I'd specifically asked them to not send the package back. (Kind of a dick-ish move, I know, since the package does take up storage space.) I sent an email to DreamV asking them if it's possible for them to resend it if I paid the shipping charges again.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or similar problems with USPS lately. This is the first time this has happened to me and hopefully the last time too.
