Purple plum/animestuffstore.com wig review

I ordered a wig from purple plum because I saw a friend posting about them being local. I was in a pinch to get a wig fast for a cosplay/ lolita outfit for a con in a week. I was so excited because it was cheaper then GLW and I have heard recently they havnt been the best quality anymore. But once I went to check out and saw the shipping price it was around $52... almost the same as GLW. I thought hey what ever, maybe it will be better quality.
The shipping was fast. I got it with time to spare. Once I opened the box I noticed the wig was a few shades lighter then the photo, which wouldnt be a big problem but im dark as crap so it is a problem for me. I even tried it on to see if maybe im freaking over nothing and it will still look ok. It wasnt, im to dark for the color. And as I was trying it on the fibers/ hair was falling out left and right. I had no rings on or anything to make sure that doesnt happen. I was really ticked about it and even asked a friend who has been buying wigs for years for cosplay. But once I opened it to show her I noticed the difference in the tried on fall and the one still in the bag, the curls had already fallen out a lot, some were almost straight. And she even agreed the quality wasnt that great and it shouldnt be shedding that much for that price and the curls should have stayed longer. I felt the base wig was kinda thin, but she said she didnt think it was.
So I emailed the company (animestuff, not purple plum). I noticed that they had a booth at the con and asked if I can return it or if all else fails can I exchange it. They said no because I tried it on. I understand why they said no because of health issues, but I wore a wig cap. And even so, im no happy at all with the product. They did say I could get 20% of another wig at the con but, why would I want to buy another wig if im unhappy with this one.
So I was stuck with it and wore it to the con. I keep it in the bags to keep the curls in tact and to stop it from fraying but.... after only a few hours it was all frizzy. The back is like a fro...

Since they wouldnt do anything for me I cut the bangs. Here is a photo of the base wig after the con, the falls are a little more messy and straight then the base wig but im just gonna show this photo to keep the photos to a minimum. This photo was taken with my phone so the color is different, but the photo above is true to color. (sorry for the HUGE photo, photobucket is being a butt and no matter what size I save the photo, it keeps posting the original size here...)


All and all, I would give the wig a higher rating if it was cheaper. 2.5/5
I just feel it shouldnt be shedding as fast as it does and I should have to recurl it every time.
