Juliette et Justine brand party!

The Tea Party Club presents:

Our 5th year anniversary spectacular:

Juliette et Justine brand party, fashion show and event
Featuring guest star: Marie Nakamura (Head designer at Juliette et Justine)
(Posted with permission from wonderfinch

Founded in 2007 by Kyra (‘blondedebates’), The Tea Party Club – affectionately known by its members as the TPC – was set up to create a friendly and organised community for lovers and wearers of lolita. Flash forward five years and we have gone from our first meet of 12 to having over 350 members nationwide! We now host the biggest lolita events in the UK.
We are a non-profit social club run for lolitas, by lolitas (we welcome everyone, and everyone is free to organise and host meets) and have organised and hosted a tea party for Misako Aoki, as well as the biggest meetup in the UK, working with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

For our 5th year anniversary, we thought we should have something a little special, so please may I - very proudly - present:

The Tea Party Club 5th year anniversary: Juliette et Justine brand event
London (venue to be announced!)
Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th September 2012

go_slowly tells me that JetJ don’t do brand parties in Japan, and I believe this is the first time they’re travelling abroad? If nothing else, this will be the very first brand party in the UK, so it’s very special to us!

Events:

Fashion Show
JetJ are kindly providing outfits for a fashion show, and all attendees will be eligible to apply to be models. I will announce the details after ticket sales but Mari Nakamura will pick the models herself from photos that I’ll send to her.

Q&A panel with Mari Nakamura
Want to learn more about the history and inspiration behind JetJ? Request size 3? Inquire about old prints and if there’s a chance of re-release? Mari Nakamura will be on stage to answer all your questions

JetJ stall
Juliette et Justine staff will be setting up a stall so you can see - and maybe buy! - the gorgeous clothes first hand.

Photo corner
We have two wonderful professional photographers who have agreed to come to the event and take pictures as well as having a back-dropped photo corner for your posing pleasure!

Raffle
Juliette et Justine will be bringing some prizes for some lucky winners! We will also be providing more prizes from local designers and elsewhere.

And much more (including the possibility of another very special guest!) to be announced!

There will also be a tea party serving traditional English afternoon tea on Sunday the 9th. Places to this are very limited.

Dress code:

No Juliette et Justine replicas. That’s it.
After a lot of enquires, I asked about whether they would prefer us to be in Juliette et Justine and they answered:

“Dear Kyra,

Please tell everyone to wear what they like when they come to the event.

Nakamura will not mind at all if the girls show up in clothes from other brands.

Thank you for asking.”

Aww! So please don’t worry if you don’t own any JetJ! (boyfriends and non-lolitas also welcomed)

Tickets:

Tickets will go on sale at 8.00pm BST (GMT+1) THIS SUNDAY (24th June)
Please watch our blog http://teapartyclub.blog.com/ for details of how and where.

Tickets will be:

General admission: £30
VIP: £40 (this includes early admission and a goodie bag!)

Tea Party tickets: (additional) £30

Unfortunately there is far more interest in the tea party than we can cater for so these will be sold on a 1st come 1st served basis. Please indicate when you buy your general admission or VIP ticket whether you wish to attend the tea party. We will then email you on Monday 25th June letting you know whether you were successful or not, and how to pay.

We will sell tickets in singles or pairs

(There has been talk of a ‘fringe tea party’ I will let you know if this happens!)

Head table tea party tickets:

We will be selling tickets to the head table on Ebay, to allow another chance at entry and to give the fairest chance to everyone. All auctions will start at £30. If you already have a ticket to the tea party and win a head table ticket we will buy back your normal ticket at no cost and release it for sale again.

Fundraising

This event will cost the bare minimum of £5,500 to host ;__; sadly London is the most expensive city in ‘rip-off Britain’ and things don’t come cheap! The community is clubbing together to raise the additional money needed to make this spectacular by donating items for sale and organising fundraisers.

I am selling Patisserie Pink! jewellery half price will all profits to the cause
Others are selling wonderful custom chibis for very cheap! (£4+)
Mini Mo from Sweet and Tiny is selling her gorgeous creations

If you want to get involved, donate something or just buy some wonderful for cheap please come and have a look!

As we are not-for profit, any additional funds that might be raised will go straight back into the event. We won’t be selling tickets on the door and we won’t be making any profit.

International visitors!

Although we’re a UK community we’d love to invite anyone and everyone who wants to celebrate with us! We’ve already got people from Spain, France, Austria, Germany, America, Ireland, and Singapore interested or attending so please, come along!

Facebook groups have been set up to translate the news and to coordinate hotels, flights and anything else you might need help with!
