Moitie sizing issues. Has anyone had a good experience using a tailor?
A recurring problem for me is that every other month or so it seems that I find a Moitie jacket or gilet that I would otherwise love to own, except that it is only available in mens size. Since many of my dream items from Moitie were released years ago finding them at all is very lucky. I recently came across a dream jacket that I've been searching for for about a year, but there is one problem - its in mens size. Its so disheartening to have something I have been searching for so close, yet I can't get it because it will likely be too big. I know I asked something similar about size 2 vs mens size about a year ago, but I need to figure out if there is any way at all for me to wear mens size, so that if the answer is no I can lay the thought to rest once and for all.
Has anyone seen a Moitie garment in size 2 and mens size beside each other to notice the tailoring difference? How different were they? (I tried doing this myself with photos, and the difference doesn't look too dramatic, but then the photos are flat.) Has anyone tried on both sizes and can tell me about the difference in fit? Has any female here worn something in mens size without it looking/fitting awkwardly? Basically I'm asking if there is any hope at all that I can wear Moitie jackets/gilets in mens size. I want this particular jacket so badly that I've been considering going ahead and buying it and if it looks weird on me, taking it to a tailor and getting it taken in a bit. Does anyone have any experience with getting garments taken in by a tailor, or more specifically gotten anything tailored that was designed for a male to fit a female form?
Out of the Moitie outerwear pieces that I do have, half of them fit me and half of them are a little bit big on me. If size 2 has a 50% chance of being too big for me, what does that say about mens size? But then brand sizes seem to be relatively small in general compared to western sizes, so maybe it could still work out? This particular jacket has a strap in the back to make the waist measurement adjustable, but I worry that because the torso might be longer, the strap might fall nearer to my hips, which isn't going to do me any favors. For reference my measurements are 86cm bust, 68cm waist.
