My "response" to the IW announcement about relicas
Hello everyone!
Do you remember someone's post here with Innocent World stating their opinion about replicas and shops that sell them?
(I can't find the link to it, sorry.....) Anyway I've been thinking about it for long time and finally I got the currage to write my idea here on EGL. It is a crazy and propably naive idea but maybe it will work. You will never know unless you try right? :D
We all love our dresses and most of us would like to own those beautiful prints. Unfortunately some of us got into this fashion a bit too late and most of the classic and the most popular prints are not being sold anymore. So what do we do? We have two options. First patiently wait for our dream dress to come up for sale here on EGL or auction site. Second option: get a REPLICA....
I know that many people and companies are against replicas and I understand that. I also understand that some people honestly don't have money to buy original prints. But there are also Lolitas like me, who would love to buy those most popular dresses from brand shops but can't, because they are not being sold anymore. I know we can wait for who knows how long for our dream dress finally being sold somewhere, but in my opinion the most popular dresses are not sold so often just because they are so gorgeous. If you buy it, you want to keep it forever :)
So my idea is simple: What if Innocent World would re-release some of the most popular dresses?
I've seen this happening on Mary Madgalene online shop. They created a poll where customers could vote which dress they want to be released and then MM announced reservations being held for those pieces. Simple solution where both sides win - company have profit, Lolitas are happy with their dream dresses :)
So I got this crazy idea: what if we, members of EGL would create a poll which dresses from IW we would like to buy, and then we would send it to IW with official letter from us? Yes I know, totally crazy, but it doesnt cost anything and maybe IW would see that we don't want to buy replicas because they are cheaper, but also because we can't buy original prints from them anymore? Also this poll would be only to show them roughly which pieces we are interested the most, and they would off course make their own one :)
This idea could satisfy both sides. IW would be selling more, they wouldn't have to come up with new prints (less work for them...) plus they would know how many people would buy dresses if they create reservations. And we could finally own our dream dresses!
I think the letter should be written by EGL moderators (my english is so bad....) representing our large community ^_^''
So what do you think about it? Crazy, I know but I always come up with crazy things! ^o^ But deep in my heart I really hope this could work. Plus I think there is so many of us and I know that if we finally forget about differences and get together as a strong Lolita fashion community, we could achieve anything! <3
