Brand quality?

Today, the button on my BPN cardigan came off, which normally wouldn't faze me, as buttons are easy to sew back on, but it wasn't the first time I've had to deal with their buttons coming off, or just being extremely loose, since I've had to sew at least three buttons bag onto my sister's bunny bag (there are like, six buttons total) and reinforced the others. It was just kind of surprising, since I'd expect for them to pay more attention to details like that. Has anyone had this problem, or have any other stories regarding shoddy brand quality?
