King of Poof: Malco modes 565, and not sure to trim it down or not

A few days ago, I made a post about my room-mate buying me an early birthday present, an enormous loving petticoat. It got here today, and it is, as you ladies warned me it would be, a BEAST. However, it is a lovely beast, and I am not sure whether to go ahead and remove a layer of fluff or not.

Warning, reaction shot ahead. Forgive the lack of a coordinated outfit, the face is worth it.

THIS THING. IS ENORMOUS.

I was shocked that it fit. I was shocked that it wasn't too long, and I was shocked at how LARGE it was. I have never seen an A-line petticoat this large before. It gives me an absolutely INSANE amount of poof. It's large, it's in charge, and it swallowed my bed whole in pink fluff when I opened the box. I have to hold in my skirt to get through doorways. However, because of my plus-size figure, it seems almost in balance with some of the OOT levels of poof I see on smaller girls. I can't decide whether to soften it down (which I am prepared to do), or keep it at is.

Soften it down? Remove the middle layer? Use my heavy-as-bells velvet jsk to dampen it down? Let it stay as is and flaunt it?
