The purse features raised 3-D details, which make it visually appealing. The two bows and the frill around the saddle are in relief.
In addition, the body, hooves, mane and tail are also all separate pieces, which have been stitched to the brown background. The stars, eye, bridle, wisps in the mane/tail, and the stripes/letters of the saddle are all printed on the pleather.
The reverse side of the purse is solid brown with no embellishments, so it won't catch on your dress.
The stitching is even and there are no loose threads or untacked edges.
Only the center of the pony is a purse. The head and legs are essentially free-standing, which is a bit strange. The design doesn't lend itself to a very stable purse, but it is very cute. On the strap, just above the connector ring, there is a cute metal star. Small details like this make the purse very adorable. When I took the photo, I didn't realize the string for the price label was covering the star a little bit; sorry.
The zipper pull is a little gold star. The zipper moves freely and does not catch at the ends.
The interior is large enough to fit a small wallet, a cell phone, keys and some make-up. There is a small pocket running the length of one side, but it is very shallow - I wouldn't put anything in it which you don't want accidentally falling out into the rest of the purse.
The purse is able to free-stand on its own, with a little manipulation of the pony's legs. This does mean that you can set the purse on a counter or floor and not worry too much about it tipping over.
Packaging: 4/5
Angelic Pretty uses a separate company to handle their shipments. I ordered two of these Decoration Pony bags, both of which were shipped together in a plastic bag from Japan to USA. Given the flexible nature of this particular bag, I'm surprised (pleasantly so) that the bags were not damaged during shipment.
The ponies are stuffed with a wad of tissue paper, to help keep their form. Each purse was then wrapped in a single layer of tissue paper and placed inside a clear plastic bag. Both purses were put inside an Angelic Pretty plastic shopping bag and shipped. As you can see from the photo, the tissue paper ripped during shipment, due to the bags shifting within their packaging.
Over-all, I'm very happy with this purse. It is insanely adorable and the quality is actually higher than I anticipated, based on previous AP purses this detailed. If I had a reason (and infinite money), I'd definitely buy this in every color! *_*
