(tags, why you no load/work?)
Well not really "finally" it came in yesterday but my lazy sister left it at work where it was delivered and waited like until I was about to leave on my visit to tell me about it. WTF . And thus I have no idea what condition or how the package looked when it came in because her greedy little hands couldn't wait to see what pretties I got. So I was handed merely the dress bag.
Like always Bodyline folds up the dress/skirt into their pretty little bag.
1st, I got myself some eyelashes because god forbid I don't have enough $1 eyelashes.
Can't really say anything here. I'm assuming it's just going to be like every other pair I've got from them.
Now onto main review
I had ordered the Wonderland skirt L137 in, well the only color they had left, red. Also in the only size left, Med.
Frankly would have liked to get the blue/pink version but I figured no harm in introducing red to my closet, considering I already have red stockings, white shoes and a white blouse. No additional shopping needed. And If I'm crazy I could even try it with black XD
Since It's been all folded up in that bag for so long it's in dire need of an ironing, but other than that it's fine
The fabric is far from cheap, being very thick and heavy. I've ordered from bodyline before so I knew this would not be a problem.
Can't help but lol this design/print.
Alice is not wearing any underwear, naughty Alice. No wonder she is blushing.
I kinda found the dress a bit over kill. I knew it would have elastic waist but I wasn't expecting it to have a zipper and latch too.
That does make it easy to put on though.
Also comes with detachable decorative bow belt. Didn't expect this either. I knew it came with a clip on bow but a back tie? Really?!
Still have to figure out how to do this right. At least I can tie it perfect and then clip it on lol
Pin Bow, quite normal. Might turn it into a headbow.
The Lace is kinda wired on the dress
It is very soft but very shinny. It doesn't have netting holding it, but the loose netting which doesn't add to design. Part that holds "stitched" ribbon does have netting though.
SO THEN I PUTS IT ON
I think I must have been living under a rock for so long because none of my dresses/skirts are this poofy. This picture is of me without a petticoat. It is soooo much well made compared to the other skirts/dresses I've gotten from this brand in terms of cut and shape.
I think what also adds to this is the fact that it's a littllllleee but small on me, having to go a bit high above the hips, but I like it.
So I try it on with petticoat.
sad face. There was no difference. My poofiest petti was no match for this skirt. I might have to double up
Or maybe this is proper shape?
Now on to the bloomers. For the longest time I've only have one pair, also from bodyline. I adored them. But now they only come in pink and the pairs closest in design have this icky lace on the end. So I decided to bite the bullet and get the short ones with the butt ruffle. Pan031 Looks pretty neat on the stock photo but I can't for the life of me get it too look that poofy IRL
It's a sort of one size fits all deal, and while the older pair I have is sooo awesome this one is sooo awkward.
The fabic also feels... weird. Like ... slightly plasticy... maybe a wash fixes this? Did my old bloomers feel like this when I first got them? Not at all soft, these.
This pair fits very loose since the elastic is very thin. Also weaker. Even though my older pair would leave marks on my belly/skin from being a little too tight, It sort of added to a corset feel and is normal to feel "stiff" in lolita. This pair I can barely feel on me when wearing, which I suppose some girls would prefer.
THIS IS MY BUTT. Notice how my crotch looks poofier than the butt ruffles.
I just can't help but feel icky in these. They look cute, but NO ONE IS GOING TO SEE THIS. What matters is that no one sees your panties/thighs. This rides right up to the crotch... or maybe it's suppose to hang lower... and leave six inches of crotch air... I can't tell.
In the end I gave them to my sister who is frankly a little over weight and was very happy to finally have something remotely Lolita being able to fit her. So if you're a little on the big side, this might be the bloomers for you!
Another slight thing I notice when lounging around in the bloomers, trying to get used to them, the lacing is a little... off
On some parts it's pretty normal, flower shaped cuts
But on some it's a triangular cut, very sloopy
I really wish they would make pan015 again. I would buy them in black and another white, and the black and white.
Okay I hope you liked my rant... I mean review. I am happy about my skirt and I can't wait to wear it this weekend (with mah old bloomers) and hopefully I will have the poof issue resolved by then, if it is an issue at all.
