photos from our local Slut Walk
This is almost a follow-up post to this previous post I made about the Slut Walk movement and Lolita. Yesterday was our local Slut Walk and a group of us went to show our support, we even made the local paper.

I was so amped up for the Slut Walk, there have already been some great photos already of other Lolitas who have attended their local marches in their frills so I couldn't wait. I had also just watched a brilliant documentary called 'Miss Representation' which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year about the representation of women in the media. (If you get the chance, I really suggest you watch the documentary, it's brilliant.) Talking to people before the Slut Walk also showed me how many people still think it's okay to verbally, physically or sexually harass someone based simply on what they wear.

I had everyone over to paint posters before we left.

We arrived early and had a chance to sit down, talk and take photos before the march started.

Everyone was so friendly and there was such a large variety of people.

After the march there were a number of guests speakers and a live band. After the speakers finished,
amabla turned up we went to a cafe to have some lunch and then to a local park to take more photos.
