It's Halloween! And I decided why not try a Halloween-themed shoot based on two cautionary fairytales. I like shooting fairytales which is a bit of a cliché at times but I still do enjoy the concept of not-quite-your-usual-bedtime-stories variety, heh.
So my intrepid models and I found a private little garden to shoot with a gothy little house in the background. And off we went to brave gloomy weather and torrential tropical rains to shoot. To say the heavens opened and poured on the day of the shoot would be an understatement! Great atmosphere for a Halloween-themed shoot I supposed, but I would have liked a bit less rain and more sun, lol. But we managed, thanks to starsthatshine and raydance and a bf and a reflector and here are the results!

The First Cautionary Fairytale
We all know Cinderella's story. How her fairy-godmother bequeathed a gown, a new hairstyle and glass slippers unto her so that she can attend the ball, marry the prince and live happily ever after.
But while the fairy-godmother told Cinderella to heed the stroke of midnight, as the coach will turn back into a pumpkin, her fine dress into rags, she neglected to mention that glass slippers would break.
The Second Cautionary Fairytale
Not a lot of folks know this but the 'Red' in Red Riding Hood's name wasn't always there. She was just, well, Riding Hood.
So how did the 'Red' end up in her name? It began when she went to visit Grandmama one day and a big, bad wolf followed her into the woods...
The Cautionary Warnings
Heed the first warning:
Never wear glass slippers and run in them
Heed the second warning:
Look behind you in the woods and always carry a long, sharp knife

Happy Halloween, everyone! =D
