((I myself am not a part of the lolita style/community so if this is totally off-base just ignore me, though I've been lurking around for a while))
Basically I follow fairy kei (and occasionally Spank!) style, which is also a street fashion that got it's roots and is mainly based in Japan. My question is: How do lolitas (as a generalization) feel about non-mainstream fashions outside of lolita? Do they/you see them as equal or lesser than lolita? Whether it's fairy kei, gyaru, goth (the western kind) etc., are there different attitudes towards each different fashion? I've seen a lot of lolis really hate on gyaru but not as much hate directed towards fairy kei and decora so this is why I'm asking. I was wondering if this is a common thing or are some lolis more accepting than others? I'm also very curious because it's really REALLY hard to find/meet some of my fellow fairy kei girls (and guys) that live nearby and that I can actually talk about Japan-based fashion with and I think it would be so nice to actually make some friends outside of the internet who actually understand or 'get' my style. So... if the lolis around my area aren't too horrible then would they be willing to talk about the fashions (mine and theirs and whoever elses) or do lolis and fairy kei/gyaru/goth/punk/decora/visual kei/dolly kei/etc just not 'mix'? (of course I don't think it would be appropriate for a non-loli to attend a loli meet-up, that's definitely not what I'm asking. Just that is it possible to make friends with lolis in my area who could be open to the idea of having a friend in a non-mainstream fashion outside of lolita? Or is that just unheard of?)
