So today the mailman came up bearing a package...
A Wild Box approaches! FIGHT!
And thus, the Wild Box and I engage in epic combat! I equip my Paring Knife and slash mercilessly against the packing tape! It's super-effective! The Wild Box has been defeated!
No full picture because my phone camera fails. HTC needs to put better sensors in their devices... :(
Cute shoes are cute. :D
As you can see, inside the box was my short-sleeved blouse and white shoes ordered from Anna House on July 13. The shipping was quite fast considering they were coming all the way from Hong Kong. I was told 7-10 days, and seven days later, the package arrived!
I went about unpacking everything and checking everything over. The blouse I wasn't worried about--it fits very well, and seems to be reasonably high quality for what I paid for it (about $35 US). It pairs quite well with my BTSSB jsk.
I was more concerned about the shoes--specifically, about them fitting me properly. So I unbuckled everything and wiggled my feet into them...
... and they fit very well! My toe doesn't smash into the top of the shoe (I have this problem with almost EVERY pair of shoes), and they feel quite light and comfortable! The straps are a bit tight, and I might have to make another hole in them to accommodate socks (due to no elastic part, I suspect), but otherwise, almost no complaints. There is a small yellowish discoloration next to the bow on the left shoe. :( It's not terribly noticeable, but I'm wondering if it's just leftover glue from the manufacturing process--and if it will come off. I hope it's not a stain.
This was my first time ordering from Anna House, and I will absolutely do it again. Everything was fast, no problems at all. The only irksome bit is the yellowish spot on my shoe, but I think I can get it off with a bit of soap and a washtowel.
And now on to the rest!
The adorable BTSSB hairbow I bought from a fellow egl denizen. :) I'm really quite fond of this bow. It's not huge and headeating, but small and cute and I like the off-centeredness. However, it is not the exact same shade of pink as my JSK. Nobody else I showed it to even noticed, however... my eyes are very sensitive to differences in color.
I suspect the proof will be in the pudding, as they say, when I put everything on and see if anyone notices the difference in shade. It's really rather minor, but the pink in the JSK seems to be closer to lilac, while the pink in the hairbow seems to be more reddish.
There is a story of USPS fail that goes along with this hairbow. The package was reported failed to deliver... so I went online and froze the delivery, so I'd be able to go pick it up today. The carrier didn't leave a slip, either, so I was left guessing which post office the package was actually at.
So I go down to the post office nearest me and discover that it's been closed down (despite Google Maps still showing it active--more fail). A sign on the door directs me to the next-closest office, so I go down to poke them about it.
They can't find the package. They tell me it's lost. This makes me a sad girl, and I trudge my way back home...
... only to find the package stuffed in my mailbox. *facepalm* Wild goose chase, indeed!
Overall, very happy with the hairbow and it was a pleasure dealing with ravenslolita. :) I'd buy from her again, absolutely.
And here we have everything all together!
Yes, I know, it's not on me, but I'm not really together today--my hair is an absolute wreck. However, now that the whole shebang is all put together (though I could still use a cardigan as it'll start to get cold) I'm absolutely going to wear it out, and when I do, LOOOOADS of pictures will be taken!
Whew, long post is long. I think I'm done now!
