Hello All, I plan to host a meet this July 16 in New York City!
In the spirit of thriftiness, clearing out wardrobes, expanding your collection, or looking for ways to avoid paying extra costs associated with online shopping, I feel this would be a great event to have next month. If you haven't attended a swap before, the basics are that you can bring clothing you no longer want, and either sell or trade it for clothing you do! Even if you don't want to part with anything from your wardrobe, you can still come to browse others' wares or just hang out! Because I am inept at navigating the city, my fellow lolita,
corrosivematter, will be second in command as chief navigator.The Swap will be at Bryant Park (unless something else is going on that day?), and if you so wish, feel free to meet at Kinokuniya at 12 noon. Both are on 6th Ave (Avenue of the Americas).
After, if some are so inclined, we can head over to the ever fabulous Bosie Tea Parlor (Yelp). They have tea, cake, small sandwiches and most importantly macarons! In order to make reservations we would need a rough headcount, so respond to this or upcoming posts if that sounds like fun to you. Once again, specify if you are just coming to the swap, or both the swap and restaurant.
Side Note: I don't know how many people Bosie can accomodate, or if they charge extra for large groups. Worst case scenario: We go somewhere else.
Additional destinations to Tokyo Rebel are possible as well, but shopping isn't necessarily the focus of this meet. And if you end up with clothes from the swap, you might not want to lug it around the city all day.
Guests are allowed, but please be reasonable.
