AatP grossly over-estimating sizes?
Back in April I purchased a Vampire Requiem JSK from BtSSB/AatP. According to the official measurements, the JSK has a maximum bust of 37 inches and a maximum waist of 32 inches. When my JSK arrived, I found I couldn't get it zipped. Like a fool, I (unrealistically) assumed that I had gained a bunch of weight and this was the reason for it not fitting.
The other day, when going through
egl_comm_sales , I saw
octavekitten 's sales thread. She purchased an AatP Circus JSK, which promised a max. bust of 36 inches. When she measured, it was only 31 inches! She had to have it professionally altered in order to fit.
This made me question whether or not my own JSK was incorrectly sized (or sewn). Yep. My JSK has a maximum bust of 31 inches, too. SIX INCHES LESS THAN ADVERTISED! When you pay $350+ for a dress, I guess I just assumed it would be made to the manufacturer's posted specifications. Needless to say, this has made me incredibly weary of purchasing any new items from BtSSB/AatP.
Has anyone else had serious sizing issues with either BtSSB or AatP before? Or was my experience anomalous?
