The problem of course occured when I got it home, at last, and tried the dress on.
The first thing I noticed was loose threads...lots of them. Mostly towards the bottom of the dress but also around the neckline and ends of the waist ties. Secondly, the waist tie buttons were so loose i thought one might pull off after I tried on the garment! I could have dealt with this except for the fit of the actual dress.
The OP is advertsied as an 81cm bust and 67cm waist.
I'm an 80cm bust and 67cm waist, perfect fit right?
WRONG
The waist sits about and inch above mine and the whole dress has a...tightness to it that makes raising my arms and moving my torso somewhat uncomfortable. Not only this but the chest, when I do cross my arms, as i tend to do, gaps rather noticably outwards.
This is the first dress I've ever ordered from AP direct, all other dress I have had secondhand fit like dreams. Is this a case of 'wear it in'? Is the shirring in the back to blame? Should I take it to alterations? Should I make a complaint? I'm rather sad to have my first experiance with the direct store be so slipshod. I wish I was kidding when I said my bodyline skirt had better craftsmanship than this...
Edit: Ok so I was pretty much unaware that these are max measurments thus I need to be slightly smaller for it to fit properly. i can deal with this. As for the threads, well it can be fixed with some handy scissor works. Thanks everyone! :)
