Warning: Picture heavy!
Hi ladies and gents! I recieved my Taobao package in the mail the other day, so I figured I'd write up a quick review of my order~
(Sorry in adance for crappy cell phone shots and sort of messy room, I was kind of in a hurry when I took the pics)
I bought the Dream of Lolita Fantastic Dolly JSK 2 replica, the matching headbow, and black An Tai Na Tea Parties in size 44. I used Taobaospree as my shopping service.
Here's a timeline of my order:
2/18/2011-- I email Taobaospree with my order.
2/19/2011-- Susan thanks me for my order and tells Lucy to follow up with me soon.
2/20/2011-- Lucy emails me with my invoice and tells me that my items will need 10-20 days to make.
2/21/2011-- I pay my invoice but realize that I didn't attach any info (my name, agent, and country) to the paypal payment. Oops! I email Lucy to let her know I paid but forgot the info. She emails me back saying that she got it (phew, no problems!) and she would email me with any new updates.
3/22/2011-- I ask Lucy if there are any problems since my items have taken 31 days so far and I've recieved no updates. She emails me back saying that Dream of Lolita (where I was ordering my dress) is switching factories and she'll check with them if my stuff is done yet, and to please wait a couple more days.
3/29/2011-- Lucy emails me that all my items have arrived at TBS. She invoices me for shipping, I pay for shipping via paypal, and I re-confirm my shipping address.
3/30/2011-- Lucy emails me that TBS will send my items to me today, and she gives me my tracking number.
4/7/2011-- The USPS guy misses me and leaves a note saying my package has arrived.
4/8/2011-- I go to the Post Office to pick up my package!
It seems like quite a saga when I look back at it xD
Anywho, on to the actual review~
First off, the An Tai Na Tea Parties! I wanted these ever since I first saw the original AP ones, and when I was ordering my dress I figured it was a perfect opportunity! Plus I was in desperate need of black loliable shoes, lol.
Here's the package as I got it from the post office. It was a little battered, and there was a small hole in the side, but overall it seemed very sturdy! Tons of tags lol.
After ten mintues of figuring out how the heck I open it....
Shoe box!! So exciting lol
And the shoes were packaged like so....
It's kind of hard to tell what's going on in this picture, but each of the shoes came in their own little plastic bag thingy.
And finally, shoes!~
Gah I love them! *_*
The treads on the bottom of the shoe-- the upper part was in the shape of roses! So cute! (You can see my size, 44, lol I have big feet)
That's all the pictures I got of the shoes! The sizing was a little on the bigger side, I felt, but I did want to order a little bigger. (better bigger than smaller!)
And now, onto the JSK!
Here's it just as I pulled it out of the box. I ordered Dream of Lolita's Fantastic Dolly JSK (2nd version) in size L.
The lining of the skirt. The whole thing is fully lined. It isn't this shiny, my camera decided to use flash.
Here's the underside of the bottom of the skirt. As you can see, they serged and sewed the ruffle on using white thread, which might bother some people, but it isn't as noticeable on the right side of the fabric. Also, you can see the fabric-- it's kind of weird and vaguely canvas-y, but not scratchy or too heavy.
Here's a closeup of the print. I know there have been some complaints about the print bleeding, but mine is great! There's no bleeds or mess-ups from what I can see. Although, for those of you who are on the fence about replicas, it does have the AP initials/logo on it, so just a precaution. (Also: Did anyone else know that the print's mascara bottle label says "Sweet dolly eyes"? It was kind of a wtf at first, as I imagined a jar of doll eyes. Lol.)
Here's the matching headbow. It's HUGE, just letting you know. I mean, it's probably the standard size for burando head-eating bows, but it really is head-eating. You need some big hair to pull this off. (I tried it on with my straight unstyled hair and it looked ridiculous. xD) It's on a thin metal headband, which was nice but I might slide it off because metal headbands give me headaches. It's not in a fixed place on the headband-- you can slide it around or off if you want to.
The back-- the stitches on the back are kind of big and in obnoxious white thread, but no one's really going to see that anyway. It's lined in the back.
Please excuse my messy room/uncoordinated outfit etc. This was just a shot to show that the JSK can hold its own against some considerable poof-- this is my ITS petti layered with a Hot Topic petti. It's pretty floofy-- I'm glad! I was worried that with all the negative reviews on the replica skirt's poofiness there would be no room for a petti, but I was pleasantly surprised!
I give TBS a 5/5! They answered all my questions very quickly and Lucy was very nice!
Quality: 4.5/5 It's not a brand dress, but it's lined, there are no print errors from what I can see, and it has room for poof!
Speed: 2/5 The whole moving factories thing took a little while, which is what brought it down.
Fit: 4.5/5 It fits pretty well! The bodice comes up really high (idk if that's intentional or not) and theres a little gapping around the front where the strap meets the body of the dress (near the underarm area), but it's nothing too bad. I also felt a tiny bit squished in the bust area, which is weird because the measurements on the site say it goes up to 95 cm, and my bust is only 89.
An Tai Na: 4/5 The fit seems a little bit bigger than listed and the logo on the sole of the shoe seemed to rub off a bit as soon as I put my foot in it. It also seems like the ankle straps were on the tighter side while the shoe itself was a little large. I do, however, love the fact that the heart buckles are snaps and not real buckles!
That's all! I hope you enjoyed the reviews and/or it is useful in some way!
Have a nice day!
