Hey look, my first EGL post! ;D
So I'm sure we all remember the tea cup hat discussion, and how another user was so inspired by it that she made a hat. Well, I too was very much inspired when I saw that post, however, I didn't have the material to make anything at the time. BUT! Two days ago I found some cardboard from I think the packaging of a pair of my stockings and I got to work. I drafted a pattern with notebook paper and used masking tape for the mockup construction. Who knew that I'd actually use geometry in my life? Yay math.
Progress Thus Far:
Where It's At Now:
It's not done yet, as it doesn't have any kind of attachment. I'm thinking either a ribbon or a clasp of some sort. I'll be adding a tea bag tag and probably some faux pearls to the lace too. It's nowhere near professional, but I'm very proud of myself as I am not a milliner in any way.
I have no idea what I'm going to wear this hat with though, as none of my current lolita possessions match this, except for maybe my IW Pompadour dress...but even so, the color is still off e 3e; Any ideas on what I could make to coordinate this into an outfit? I've still got a little bit of fabric and pearls left over. And I'm open to any suggestions, even ones that involve making actual pieces of clothing. edit: being worn! crappy bathroom mirror shot ftw ;3
