Today...er yesterday.... was Baby, the Stars Shine Bright's first annual Winter tea party!
The theme was Winter Forest Friends~
It was located in the cloudy windy depths of San Francisco. At 3:30PM we were to meet at Polk and Beach St and then head over to their secret destination for tea ^_^!
I arrived early around 3:00PM as I didn't want to be late getting there by public transportation.
Everyone checked in with Angelica (one of lovely the SF Shop staff).
When I arrived these two lovely ladies were already there :)
Myself and Angelica :)
One by one everyone arrived...
everyone looked lovely!
Jan and Christina
two lovely ladies
(Sorry, I forgot your names)
The pink haired girls hair is real- so amazing and pretty!
A group photo for all who had arrived so far :)
Sorry I forgot your name but you have the cutest smile and an awesome bunny scarf~
Sorry I don't remember your name either but your outfit was so cute too ;_;!
(Sadly though I don't have pictures of everyone as my hands got really cold from taking them outside in the cold after this point)
More and more people showed up and colder and colder we got. A lot of us weren't really prepared for the San Francisco weather on the bay front. Brrrr!!!
A funny period while waiting:
The corner we were meeting on was quite a busy intersection. All the tour buses passing through Ghiradelli Square passed our corner so we had a lot of people on double decker buses stop and stare at us and ask us questions. We also got a lot of nice compliments by cars passing by and a few random cat calls @_@! On top of that there was a fire truck tour and a trolley tour that passed us- a lot of the announcers liked to make nice comments at us 8D. We also were passed by about 3 segway city tours- of which lot of their people were really confused by a group of lolita's on a corner.
As we were getting ready to go into the tea salon, a women came up to us stating she was a professional photographer and asked to take our picture. She actually got quite pushy about it and wanted us to do crazy poses. One girl had a bandaid on her hand and the photographer told us it was okay -she would photoshop it out (lol). She kept us for quite a while in the cold. During that time a creepy man came up behind her and started making weird comments at us =_=. He said he wanted one of us for his house and "we didn't have to cook" just "run the house". What the heck!? After this a lot of us of us were really freaked out and wanted to go in. We finally go away from the photographer and headed into the square.
As the staff was not ready setting up the tea party, we went to Crown and Crumpets new boutique on the lower level of Ghiradhelli Square and we played with their stuffed animals (there was a beautiful beaver toy there I wanted), awed at their decor, and kept warm until they were ready for us.
Eventually, Crown and Crumpet's super nice shop keeper came in to escort us upstairs. She is a really big fan of lolita fashion and is always super nice and excited to see us :)! She really knows how to make us feel welcome!
We all got seated in a reserved section in the back. We had one long table and a fireplace area :)
(please excuse my poor composite xD)

The end of the main table~
The fireplace group!
We settled down and prepared for tea! It was quite warm and comforting inside.
As we got settled in we all had to fill out name tags so we could get to know each other ;D!
Our tea menu- just for us!
We also got a little goody bag from Crown and Crumpet of special chocolates (of them them is a chocolate porcupine).
We had 4 types of tea: Peppermint Chamomile, Chai, Strawberry Vanilla, and Marie Antoinette.
All of the teas were delicious~
Everyone had a few cups before the meal came out.
My myspace style shots of myself drinking my tea all proper-like!
Pinky out! (haha).
Finally the food was brought out. It was delicious :)
There were 3 layers of food:
The tea sandwiches
The crumpets and scones~
NOM NOM NOM 8D!
After eating all of the delicious food we went onto play the party games.
The first contest was a vote for the person with the best Winter Forest Friend themed outfit. We all got pieces of paper and used the name tags or outfit descriptions to vote for someone (I voted for Jan- I liked her usakumiya bear outfit with JSK and headdress!)
The winner of the best themed outfit was Alanna_lioness who had a cute bunny themed outfit! Unfortunately, she did not come out fully in any of my photos so I hope someone can post a photo of her awesome outfit soon! She was wearing a pink embriodered Momoko JSK, a btssb bunny scard, bunny ears, and more bunnies!! Bunnies galore!
She won what I believe was a white snow dot OP, a pink ribbon headband, and socks (?).
I ended up winning 2nd place (thank you everyone TAT I didn't expect to win- I tried to make my theme "dead winter forest friends" ._.;;;)!
I won this AaTP pack
It is cute except I don't wear pink at all @_@! Hopefully I can sell it and get something else from Baby!
After this contest, we had more games. They passed out scratchers (like lotto type scratchers), and we scratched our way to prizes. If you got milky chan or usakumiya on your scratcher then you were a winner! I got usakumiya- but we can only win once so I passed on my scratcher to a friend~
Here are the Usakumiya winners!
Umi got a Milky Chan with a plastic ribbon bracelet or necklace~
Jan got similar items :)
The other two (?) winners got similar items as well! Such pretty jewelery *_*!
After scratchers, we played lolita bingo! We were given bingo cards and bingo pieces. The bingo squares were marked with things like "wearing Kodona", "wearing a food print", "have a parasol", and other things like that. Who ever could get 6 (?) in a row would win a bingo. Unfortunately, no one was wearing a specific enough outfit to win bingo immediately. So, then pieces were called out and the first to get to that number would win!
Danny won one of the bingo prizes- he won a pink sweet cake JSK set 8D! Hooray!
Idealia also won at bingo- she got a yellow snow dot OP set *_*!!!!
Everyone gasped when they opened their prizes! It was cute~
I think about 3-5 more bingo prizes were given out.
Jessie received a hot pink knit bolero with a specialty baby novelty necklace (it was a biscuit with a baby B on it)- I was jealous!
There were a few more prize sets but I can't remember what they all were now- sorry.
After bingo, was the white elephant gift exchange. We were given an opportunity to participate in a a $15 maximum gift exchange. We drew numbers and picked presents in that order (no stealing here!).
I got a lovely candy and cookie set :9 Thank you whoever brought this!
Manmadememories received a cute nyanko eggplant plush xD. Among other gifts were Lush products, candy sets, a disney princess beauty care set, a light up tofu, accesorie packs, and more! It was a cute way to end the evening.
As things were wrapping up we were all in for a big surprise!
Our dear Btssb San Francisco staff prepared stockings for us to hang over our fire places (or in some instances in San Francisco and the bay area....our radiators :P)
Inside were Baby and AaTp stickers and either a necklace or a cell phone charm. I got an awesome necklace with the baby princess drop on it! It also included a handwritten note to each of us personally from the staff wishing to see us at the next event (definitely 8D). The stockings also had Btssb buttons on them that we can use later!
For the super personalized touch....
the back of the stockings had each of our names on them!
;o;! So sweet of them!
And that was my review of the Baby tea party~ I definitely plan to go to the next one as it was so much fun!
Afterwards, many of us headed back to the SF store to go see one of the shop staff (Saru- who could not make it to the event as the store had to stay open during that time) and thank him for the wonderful time we had!
Thank you Baby the Stars Shine Bright San Francisco Staff ! I am sure everyone had a wonderful time because of you!
(P.S. I am sorry for the ridiculous amount of exclamation points in this review...kind of!)
