I ordered this dress through qcute from this link. This is the second Rose Melody dress I have purchased (and reviewed). Once again, I am very happy with this purchase. As always qcute's service is superb. Perfect communication, and questions answered in a timely fashion. I've just placed another order with them today. Plenty of you know how great their service is, so now on to the dress!!!!
A summary of the details of the Rose Melody Merry-Go-Round JSK from qcute is:
- 100% Cotton Fabric
- Elegant jumperskirt design
- Dotted tulle at front chest
- Slim waist line design
- Special print at skirt edge
- Shirring & lacing at the back
Without shipping the dress retails for $100 USD, and I believe the quality is quite good for that price. The dress is made of a lightly stretchy cotton poplin. The fabric is thin, but nice. It will be fabulous in summer. The dress is fully lined with satiny fabric throughout, which is something that has been lacking on some brand dresses lately. I really love the design of this JSK, with the dot tulle on the bust area, and the way the bust area is like a separate panel coming in behind the straps. It is all one piece though! The waist brooch has pearls on a stretchy elastic strand, and is removable. Two extra black bow brooches came with the dress as well, though I have nowhere to really put them. The lacing in the front is purely for design and cannot tighten or loosen. The lacing in the back for the shirring, though, is the same silver thread. It's kind of a thin stiff ribbon, and to make it a bit more subdued I will probably replace the back shirring lacing to black ribbon. The design is really flattering to the body, I love the way it looks. It's super comfortable too.
The print at the bottom is beautiful. There is a warning on qcute's page that there's a small chance that the print might be a bit blurred in spots or unalligned. Actually it says this:
Please read this 2 points and agreed that before you place order.
1. Due to the print technical difficulty, some of the prints may be a little bit blur when you look closely. But that's not serious and won't effect the overall looking of the dress.
This is the clear example that they give, and this is the unclear/blurred example they give.
I find that the print on my dress is in perfect allignment and unblurred. I am very impressed. The print is a shiny metallic silver that really sparkles under the light (OMG SPARKLEH!!!!). The lace at the bottom of the dress is very beautiful too. It looks like very delicate, but it's strong when you feel it so I know it won't come apart. The zipper is on the right side of the body, which is nice to me, since most of my dresses have the zipper on the left side and I am right handed. The zipper goes up fairly easy, though at the waist line it's a bit difficult in the transition from skirt to bodice. It is no different from any brand zipper though. Actually it's quite a bit easier than all of my Angelic Pretty dress zippers. The fact that this dress is washable is a HUGE bonus to me too.
I definitely recommend buying this dress if you are interested in it. I don't think you'll be disappointed. It took the full 30 days to have it made, but it was worth the wait. I gave them my measurements in the order and its been made perfectly. It fits like it was made for me. And well... it was :P And now on to the photos! I tried to take some with and without flash so you can see details. The fabric is a very true dark black and not lighter how it looks in some photos. All of qcute's stock photos of the dress can be found here. Please click on my images to be taken to their flickr page where you can make them HUGE.
(i got a bit too happy with the puri stamps because I just got home from working all day and can't be bothered to try and pretty up for you!)
