This is seam where the front panel meets the front-side panel. I've only tried the dress on twice, never worn it out. I'm worried it will get worse if I wear it out. There's no lining in the bodice, but the seam on the other side of the front-side panel is re-enforced due to the boning in it, and there's no issues there.
Its the same on both sides, FYI, but I've inspected every other bodice seam and these are the only 2 seams pulling in this way.
Ways considered to solve the problem:
- Find a way to re-enforce the fabric at the seam. I'd like to do this in a way that doesn't add extra seams to the front. I'm fully happy hand stitching something to the inside, I'm just not sure what.
- Kick my bad habit (I occasionally puff out my chest a little to take deep breaths when I'm in corsets, since I feel like my lungs are restricted and that alleviates the feeling. Since this is tight on my chest and I did that, I'm guessing that caused it?)
- I may or may not contact BABY about this. I don't want to complain, but they should be aware of this for fabric choices in future products.
Thanks in advance for any help. I'm probably over-exaggerating, but when I saw this last night I was afraid of wearing my nice dress out (and IMO a $300 dress shouldn't do this, but I know I mostly paid for the name... :/ )
