I saw this in the latest volume of the GLB, and, being the yarn addict that I am, realised I had just enough of the perfect cotton yarn to make a replica!

They're fairly simple to make if you've had any experience making crochet flowers before. This is a rough pattern for it - I've never written crochet patterns before, but I hope I got the terms right. I used an I hook for mine, but match your hook to your yarn. I wouldn't use anything bigger than a K unless you like really big flowers.
Abbreviations:
ch - chain
ss - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
Instructions:
Round 1: ch2, work 6 scs in first chain (7 scs). ss in first sc to join.
Round 2: ch5, hdc in next sc, *ch 3, hdc in next sc, repeat from * 4 times, ch 3, join with ss in second ch of initial ch5 strand
Round 3: *ss, hdc, 2dc, hdc, ss in first loop of round 2, repeat from * in subsequent loops (makes 6 petals)
Round 4: ss into BACK of first petal, in loop closest to last stitch made, *ch 3, ss into back of next petal, repeat from * 5 times, join with ss in first ss of the round.
Round 5: *ss, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, ss in first loop of round 4, repeat from * in subsequent loops (makes 6 petals), fasten off.
For the headband, make 5 of each flower, attach three pearls per flower, and ribbons/braided yarn on either end for ties.
EDIT: Some people are having a problem with the back petals being too small. Please check your tension in round 4 - you want the 3 chain loops to sit at around the middle of the front petals so that the back petals peek out. An alternative is to do [ss, ch1, dc, 2 triple crochet, dc, ch1, ss] in round 5 instead, it will give you larger petals.
Would anyone be interested in commissioning crochet floral headbands? If I were to make them for sale, I would prefer to make flowers shaped like the one on the right...
EDIT: They'd be 15 USD plus shipping! Comment or PM me if you're interested :D
because I prefer flowers without spaces in them, and I'd feel better selling something that has at least a semi original flower design (in that I didn't follow a pattern to make it, since flowers shaped like that are a dime a dozen), rather than an outright replica. I was also thinking of making the pochette that matches the headband, but I need to work out how to make the bag part of it (unless people just want a decorative sling flower bouquet XD). I'm all out of the yarn now, though, so I'd have to run out and buy more.
Thanks for looking! Please tell me what you think!
