some questions about Meta's shipping practice(s)

My googling-powers might have failed me in doing an EGL search, so forgive me for this question: what are Meta's usual shipping practices?

I know they ship via EMS, but how do they declare your items to customs? Exact amount, or do they mark the price down upon customer's request? If the latter, were there any "unlucky" cases who had to pay for the tariff even for just a single item?
