There have been a few changes since the original post so please read this carefully if you have not recently seen my notice about this meet.
Time: I will be there around 9-9:30 with whoever I am giving a ride to. The original time of the meet was at 10 and we will still wait until 11 for people to show up before we begin our romp through the flowers.
Cost: Entry is free that day
Food: Originally I was going to bring sandwiches for everyone but in light of the changes and the “vendors sale” going on, I will not be bringing food. You are all free to being food but please keep in mind that if you have to park in one of the neighborhoods instead of the gardens parking lot, you may have to trek back to your car to put away any Tupperware or food storage you may bring. My suggestion is that if you want to bring treats, make sure you bring them in something disposable like bags or tinfoil so it can be thrown out after and save you a trip in possibly uncomfortable shoes.
What’s there?: All the flowers will be in bloom except the roses. The white garden, vegetable garden, tropical plants, geraniums, and butterfly gardens as well as every other part of the garden will be alive and in bloom. The roses were recently trimmed and will not have had enough time to grow back. You will also find there the old house which we will take a tour of as well as a small cemetery and even a bamboo forest.
Why is it free this weekend? The weekend I chose is apparently the weekend of their vendors sale where plant and flower vendors will be selling flowers around the gardens. The woman at information said it’s usually a busy weekend and we may have to park in the nearby neighborhoods if there is no parking at the gardens.
