Hello

I've been inquiring about this for quite a while and ahve been searching for the answer with no response

what modeling agencies are the models in the G&LB/KERA associated with?

I know some of them are picked right off the streets but what agencies are the models in the btssb, angelic pretty, and other brand name ads from?

thanks for your help!

To tell you the truth, I think almost all of them are picked off the streets? They call them "dokusha models" (models picked from the readership). Like

Misako-san was picked off the streets.
Rina-san was picked off the streets. She was with an agency, but she quit. All her goth-loli work is from her submitting her picture to the G&LBible or Kera? I forget ^^; one time.
Non-san was picked off the streets.
G-san was picked off the streets.
I'm pretty sure even Riku started that way.

Maki-san is different because she's a designer :)
Oh, and Metamor only uses staff for their models.

The only people I can think of that are used a lot that I don't know for sure are the girl they use for Innocent World and the new doe-eyed girl who's showed up in the last few bibles (like for every brand...this lady->http://www.victorianmaiden.com/maidenindex.html) :) I hope this helps? Well, it narrows down the people you have to look stuff up about, right?

Well, I think if you have connections in the loli-modeling world, it doesn't hurt?

But it sounds like you don't have to have one.

You're welcome :)

are u sure they are get them off the street..
i mean Kera advertising hiring model in the magazine very often..
if they pick them off the street, why would they advertise on they magazine then?
plus there's tons of girls wearing lolita, is very hard to pick the ones you want...

I know people who pretty much got picked up from the streets to do modeling work.
but they probably get models from advertising as well, otherwise they wouldn't have the ad.

Yes, I'm sure some of them are picked off the street. I never said all and I *did* mention that Rina-san sent her picture in? She sent in one of her street snap pics to one of those "Dokusha Model Boshuu" ads in the magazine and that is how she became one. She talks about in the Tokyo Dangerous Night interview...as does Misako-san who said she was asked to on the street and Non-san.

Even reader models get paid, so techinically they are "hired"...but that doesn't mean they are with a modeling agency.

Why do they advertise? A lot of non-lolita Japanese magazines ask for reader models up. It's supposed to boost circulation.

Definitely picked off the streets or via reading the magazine.

Mayumu-san USED to be a model (for reasons she had to quit) and she got picked off via those snaps.

I think SiSen was one and he quit for reasons too :X

There really isn`t a model company for Kera since every MA in Japan makes you have your hair nice and black/brown/asian color.

My friend Lena who's tall, blonde and German was approached in a department store by a girl looking for a model for a fashion shoot. Seriously, that's how it works - there are scouts all over Shibuya on weekends, too. As well as the sleazy guys looking for new hostesses for their clubs...

*sighs dreamily* i wish i could eb a model...a loli model would be ideal, but any kind of fashion model would be wonderful...

If you're thinking that you can just sign with an agency and they're going to drop you into a certain magazine, well...that's just now how it works, even in the mainstream modeling world. Plus, as others have said, most of the models are scouted.

Well, Japan is known for having teens become instant stars XD
Scouts are always around to have a look out for new talents and such and Japan being such a small country. It is not hard to get noticed. I mean just walking aroudn Harajuku helps alot. XD
