Would this count as loli?

still new at EGL and livejournal. I don't even know how to post messages yet! hope this works!


bought this bag at the mall. I added lace around the frilly spots. Would this count as loli?
if so, should I add more lace/bows/anything else? what do you guys think?

yah? i mean, I bought this little thing for p200 (that's only around $4.00 USD)!!! I decided to sew on lace at the sides, tho. ^_^

It's totally adorable. I'm completely new to EGL, loli as well, but I do think it would go great with a gangster-loli outfit. There should be links in the memories pages to show what we're talking about.
Also, I have an obsession with pinstripes, so there you go. Maybe I'm biased. ;)

thing is... I'm still new at the Loli thing. Story was I was looking for a great outfit for halloween and I stumbled into the Loli style and I was just...intrigued! So for the past few weeks, I've just been reading around, looking at pictures (and drooling over great stuff!)... so, that being said, I still don't have a whole outfit just yet. I've looked around and my area (Cebu, Philippines) is yet to be thoroughly rummaged by yours truly in terms of Loli dresses. It's pretty hard to look for them and I still can't buy one online (PayPal isn't available here yet and other alternatives like money order seems so tasking). Too bad, tho... I mean, since I'm in Asia, stores from Japan would've delivered here faster (prolly cheaper, considering the distance). *sighs*

The bag is very sweet! If you're just getting your first lolita dress, you should look for something you can easily coordinate with both the bag and some basic accessories. Pinstripe goes easily with regular black fabric without any special prints, patterns or so. A pinstriped dress would be cute, too, and a bit unique since the Japanese lolitas don't seem to be using stripes very often. It's a bit more gothic and subtle. Perhaps you should try something like this: http://www.rorasah.net/vaatteet/mekot/GL02_lraita.html (I don't like that dress too much myself, though, it's almost too gothic to be called lolita at all, but it gives a general idea).

BTW, when using eyelet lace, if possible you should buy some extra inches and hide some half-an-inch of the edge under the lace itself. That way it won't erupt so easily, and it looks more neat, too. The lace you chose is especially beautiful, I wish I would find something like that ^^ It seems to be of good quality also.

I love it just as it is. It's "plain", and would suit many different styles of outfit (or even normal clothes!) because it's not too big a statement by itself, or you could embellish it even more if you want it to stand out, or match an outfit more closely.

Example:
- victorian/classic look: pin a cameo brooch on the bow on the front, or add a strand of pearls along the bag opening.
- sweet look: sew more lace to the edges of the bow, or pin tiny ribbons along where you've got the extra lace
- gothic/punk look: get some grommet tape and put it where you'd put pearls for the Victorian look

... Sorry... I need to start on a new sewing project. I get far too picky when I don't have something. Really, you don't need to do anything more to the bag at all, but I just had visions dancing in front of me @_@
